1.36 Kg bag of the same chips (crinkle and straight cut) currently £1.85 in Iceland.
(yes OK, original posting works out slightly cheaper per Kg).
Love Chips
I always find oven chips very dry. They're also either too thin or too chunky for my taste.
McCain chips are the best ones I think but they are just ok compared to properly fried but unhealthy chips.

I used to feel the same however you should consider buying an air fryer. Just add a spoon or two of oil and they taste almost the same as deep fried chips.
