You can buy a 'baked potato' ready meal.

Roast actually makes a bit of sense as these are battered if I remember - a decent roast potato actually takes some effort and skill. Still prefer one done properly, no-batter though.
But then, probably won't be me cooking this christmas, so maybe I should get these to avoid disappointment :).

Come on make some effort on christmas day!, instead of opening packets.oO

"effort and skill" - hmm - peeling a potato, par boiling it and whilst doing that heating up the fat in the oven, whacking it in the oven and basting em after about 20 minutes.

Can I collect my Michelin star now?!!

Too right. By all means cheat on everything else - apart from proper roasties on Christmas Day!

Work just as well by par boiling and deep fat frying - if you haven't got oven management.

Probably won't work with the "air fryers" that seem to go scorching on this site... apart from in the places needed!

2 for £1 in Pentwyn too - just been there today

make yer own frozen r rank

If they come out really, really nice; yes. But they won't really, I'd say.
I've taken to doing the 'shaking in a sieve' thing after boiling - gets them a lot crispier over more of the surface.

We will be making our own this year too as our local Tesco appear to have forgot to order any in!
