these are ok for a few blades of long grass around the edge of the lawn but don't go expecting too much for your £40

I have one of these and have not had problems with long or tough grass whatsoever... are you sure you are using the correct line with it as that makes a big difference?

I don't think you are intended to cut your entire lawn with it but mine will gouge out chunks in my child's wooden play frame if you use a thicker line so it's like a knife through butter with grass!

Limited low stock in Poole branch.... which means you usually receieve phone call next morning as sold out so order cancelled

out of stock in stores near me

thanks for posting anyway

voted hot, but went down ??

I've got one like this and I've tried round and square line but both slip out of the spool so I'm forever having to reattach. Its very annoying

Out of stock at all of the stores near me, but thanks anyway....

similar in screwfix for around 29 quids. Homelite brand and plenty in stock.

I saw this before posting but Screwfix are out of stock at the moment - hence this is cheapest available price - check out the other strimmer I posted if you are finding this one hard to find in your local

I can recommend this strimmer. Bought mine about 7 years ago, wasn't expecting too much from a budget petrol strimmer, but it has been great. No problems starting and handles any coarse grass I've thrown at it, probably overkill for many jobs. On mines I have to stop and restart after manually feeding line, which is quite often if strimming up against slabs and fences.

I prefer a straight shaft!

Buy cheap buy twice
I bought a john deere petrol strimmer for £60 out of my local free paper its surperb like new and probably cost £200 new

Had one for 7 or 8 years, sits in a damp shed, starts up no problem every year, used weekly in the season, use decent strimmer line and your good to go - bargain!

you want to try putting petrol in it rather than trying to plug it in, you may find it works better.

i have had mine for 7 or 8 years, still works a treat. slices through grass, small twigs, bushes and flowers no problems.

just need to use the mannual pump button if you dont use it many times per year, just pump through 10 times and then have it on full choke for 2 strokes, then on half choke and bobs your uncle.

b&q's own wire with the correct fitting spindle is fine, mine still bump feeds no probems.

Where is there a ryobi one for 69? with hedge trimmer attachment?

We have one - awful to start. The people who find them easy to start seem to have had them for a while, so i wonder if there has been a design change? My father bought one about 9 months ago, and he has the same problems. We'll be freecycling ours.
