(highfive)I guess that's an alternative if you've already purchased something at McDonald's. For receipts you get, isn't there an expiration date on them from the date issued, e.g. 14 days?

The expiration dates mean nothing, you can just put a random code for the survey and it accepts it. I've done them enough times to know

The advantage of the survey option is it works on delivery if you redeem it on the My McDonald's app (not through Uber Eats or Just Eat)

    Codes for all 3

Big Mac or Chicken Sandwich: 81733606
    Quarter Pounder: 81733804
    Filet o Fish: 81734108

Just input at kiosk, keep a couple of printouts in wallet incase they ask which is rarely

The standard price is £1.99 if you fill out the "how did we do" and use the code provided. Then do the same with that reciept and the loop never ends.

Depends where you go and who you get I suppose. For that reason I always suggest doing the survey / app ones instead of typing the codes on self service machines unless you have a physical voucher to hand in

I always have a few physical vouchers in my wallet in case they ask
But even when they do, they never check the date or even if it's the right voucher!

    Yes

The expiration date on The Metro voucher means nothing either.
The self-serve kiosk accepts them after they've expired, and staff never check the date if they happen to ask for your voucher. (edited)

Not valid at restaurants with a drive through, rules out quite a lot then!

The staff in McDonald's restaurants never enforce that rule, but it may mean you can't use it in the drive thru, I recommend just using it inside the restaurant instead (edited)

How do you get them on the app?

Student Beans has two offers for McDonald's. Find the one that is valid for app orders, open the My McDonald's app, select "More..." at the bottom, "Scan Vouchers" and select the option to enter the code manually

You might need to actually type the code from Student Beans yourself as copying and pasting doesn't always work with the My McDonald's app

How exactly do you do this? This would help me out a fair bit tbh.

Go to self ordering screen and just place barcode in front of the lower left scanner, it should turn red when scanning, then it will show the options to continue order! You may have to angle your mobile screen towards scanner, just adjust slowly until it accepts! Just ask staff if you have any problems, usually very helpful!

this is never enforced, literally have no idea why this is printed on the vouchers.

also make sure you have a physical voucher to hand in when collecting your food, it is 'policy' to take in a voucher when one is used, you might get lucky and they won't ask but this is what workers are supposed to do which leads to awkward arguments over the front counter when customers say "well they never ask me for that at store x!".

Don't try and use screenshot voucher strips like these at the till either, they're much less likely to be accepted, use the kiosks if possible.

I've had to surrender printed Metro vouchers when asked by the staff bringing my order to my table at a McDonald's drive thru last year so it's good to know printed ones work just as well when scanned on the self-service kiosks. Smaller franchisees don't have the kiosks so it's a bit of a pain queueing at busy times. I had a disappointing experience on Saturday in my local restaurant when my quarterpounder was cold when I opened it from the bag. I should have complained and exchanged it for a fresh one but the queue was too long...

A good tip I have learned, if you can customise something. Will always end up with a fresh burger.

Yep definitely a good idea to keep some physical vouchers. My McDonald's app account is full of digital vouchers. Mostly student ones (19 student vouchers to be exact)

If you mean the student deal you can find two versions on Student Beans now, one in-store and one code.

You can also redeem the survey code on the app

Just select "More" at the bottom, "Scan Vouchers" and select the option to manually enter the code

You might need to actually type it yourself as copy and paste doesn't always work for the codes unfortunately (edited)

When the kids are lazy, or it’s raining, I go to the drive thru and use the app. But then I can’t use those codes (that McDs asks for the voucher so can’t even walk in to order. So usually do a few surveys and load them to the app in advance.I hadn’t realised the SB offers were now online, just added one

Oh no not the paper ones. I wish!

Glad I could help with the Student Beans though. They work on delivery as well (edited)

Can someone just provide. Pic of the barcode or the barcode number

They no longer print the barcode number on the vouchers, but easy to get using a QR code scanner on your phone.
I use QR code scanner option in Samsung Internet browser, hover camera over the voucher it shows the barcode number.
    e.g. Big Mac & Fries is 81733606

Sadly it’s a case of trial and error. Some won’t accept them but they’re in the minority. Use self-service kiosks (even at motorway services or drive thrus) and there’s also the printable online version in the description below the deal. Hope this helps.

I have no easy access for the metro paper, hence work printer comes in handy lol. An update - the printed ones work just fine on the restaurant kiosks, scan a lot quicker then the QR code ones. Touch and go when the server asks for the voucher when the food is served. I have also tried with a couple of drive thru ones. They work fine on the kiosks. Oh and I decided to be healthy and try the side salad, omg worst thing ever - perfect for rabbits. Fast food place, stick with the junk lol.
