£1.99 deals are back in the Metro again (newspaper dated Monday, March 11th 2019).

Choose a Big Mac or McChicken Sandwich and shaker side salad or medium fries (x2 of these vouchers), quarter pounder with cheese & shaker side salad or medium fries (x1 of these vouchers), or a fillet-o-fish and shaker side salad or medium fries (x1 of these vouchers)

Terms and conditions printed on voucher:

Present your voucher before placing your order. Offer valid until 31.03.19. Not valid at restaurants with a Drive Thru (added by me - this rule is frequently ignored, I've ordered with these at restaurants with a drive thru on multiple occasions)

Voucher redeemable subject to availability for standard offer at participating UK restaurants. Serving times apply. No cash or other alternatives available. One offer per voucher holder per day. Scanned or photocopied vouchers not accepted. Not for resale or use in conjunction with any other promotion or offer. Must be 16 years or older to redeem. ©2019 McDonald's

I don't understand logic behind these vouchers?? They are always £1.99 with vouchers!
Why can't they sell big mac and fries for £1.99 permanently on regular menu and stop ripping off people by selling junk food for higher price without vouchers

I tried these the other day at my local one. Some things to note:

At the machines, you can use more than one voucher.
You can also add extra pickles and things with no extra cost.
They asked for the voucher over the counter when collecting the order.

Yeah it says something like "Voucher used *hand-in*" on the order note they get in the kitchen which sometimes ends up with the order. They don't usually ask for it though when I order unless I'm ordering at the counter and not a machine

Things that you have to pay to add extra are like cheese, bacon etc. For small add-ons like extra pickles or ketchup you don't pay for

Sadly no. That's really annoying in my opinion because the app is such a great way to order McDonald's. I wish you could. Maybe they'll allow it in the future?

The food goes cold very quickly imho
A few years back we used to fill in those McFoodForThoughts surveys to get the £1.99 Big Mac & Fries. Then we realised they never asked for the receipts so now we just ask for the £1.99 BM&F and they do it everytime..
Might be an idea to save these for when monopoly starts next week

If i've got the time I usually make a request for a small change to my order (extra ketchup for example), that way you wont get something thats been sitting on the racks for ages, and the food comes out hotter than usual

I always get extra pickles on my burgers. Best topping imho
Instead of the Bigmac & Fries i now ask for the fillet of fish and a side salad as the chips are awful
What is a Metro newspaper, where can I pick one up ?

By far the best 🙌
Not on the online e- paper damn.
I always treat the homeless with these
I'm actually a pro in using these. Some tips:
1. You don't need the actual voucher. In Mcs with self service touchscreen tills you go first "I have voucher" in top right corner and then type in manually. Punch in the number (number is under the barcode, unfortunately it cannot be seen on OPs picture)and choose what you want. Normally when collecting the person should ask you for the voucher but that happened to me maybe twice in prob over 30 times I've used it. When I was asked once I just said I throw away the voucher since I paid already and they said its fine. These ppl don't really care especially that it almost always busy and processing refund when the food is packed is the last thing they will do.
2. Don't worry about expire date. I found that codes work after the date and if you used the method above and paid. you will not have a problem with collection.
3. Dont use the voucher with person/till bc they will take the voucher from you. Use it on self service till. This was you can recycle one voucher over and over.
