Differences between fans might include how much it costs, how well it's made, what it looks like, how much power it uses, etc etc.
The biggest selling point of this fan, in my opinion, is how much less noise it makes to move the same amount of air when compared to other fans. It really is very good for this indeed. We own two and think they're great. (edited)
They are super quiet which helps with night time use and the remote is cool too.
Much better than the fans we used to get for 20 quid or so.
We've have this version in the bedroom and a floor standing one in the living room for 2 years now and they are simply amazing, better than the Dyson ones.
I think they are hard for people to justify, especially given how much things cost at the moment. If you have the cash to spare on a Meaco, I think you'll really like it.
Obviously cheaper options will help you feel cool too, but probably won't be as kind on the electric bills, be as well built, have as many speed settings or be a quiet. The height adjustment on the pedestal is solid.
Homcom do a fan that looks to based on the Meaco, but it's much cheaper with a different motor and less speed settings. No idea on how quiet they are. They are cheaper at around the £40 mark when on offer. I've posted them before and will keep an eye out.

The homcom, for its size (much smaller) is actually pretty decent. It's still powerful, just much louder.
If someone couldn't afford the Meaco the Homcom is great for its price. (edited)
But probably only useful one day a year in Gateshead.
There will be lots of these returned due to being "not as described" as the marketing including phrases such as
which is hilarious as all the device does is shuffle air around a room whilst actually adding heatload via the fan motor
i.e this device provides zero cooling to a room and actually heats to it.
Meaco seem to be a decent supplier, I have their portable Aircon for when our new build gets way too warm for the Bulldog and that's been great as well
None in stock near me..
overpricedpremium product, you have 6 years to present a premature-failure claim to the retailer that sold you the prematurely-busted rubbish - unless you live in a country that insists on shafting consumers by lessening the claim period to an equally rubbish 5 years, such as Scotland.
