I think it is a national thing, it looked like an orgainsed promotion from the labels, and all the food is well within date

So what is the food deal? You haven't listed any examples? What can we get for 1.99?

There was no such offer in my local M & S in Hertfordshire last night.

Never mind, maybe it is just particular stores then and haven't listed what foods were half price because I don't really want to walk around M&S with a notepad and pen:whistling:

Hoisin duck and egg noodles was half price Tuesday (£1.99 instead of £3.99) and very delicious it is too - bought from a London store. Can't be frozen though unfortunately otherwise would have stocked up, it is that good. Will look tomorrow in local store to see if the offer is on there and if it's still running. I don't think you would see any signs up instore, it is just marked on the individual items.

bought some the other day for my mum, they had beef casserole and dumplings, meatballs in gravy, fresh chickens, ready made stuffing, singapore rice noodles and king prawn and loads of other stuff they have these deals most of the time, they do seem to be national as i've bought them in a couple of kent stores when they've been available in london branches, also their battered sweet and sour chicken is the best ready made i've tasted yum

Thought it was bad enough when traceym & violetE were making me hungry as hell....now you make me 'thirsty' too!!!
(If it wasn't for the fact M&S can afford the 20% off vino due to generally overpricing you could have ended up as the straw that broke this camel's back!!!)

To be truthful they are not too bad, I bought a bottle of their chilean cab sav which is only 3.79 to start with and now £3, and have to say it beats a lot of £7-8 bottles I have bought :):whistling:

Fair play. To be honest, I've not really bothered with M&S wines due to sticking with what I know rather than shifting to their own brand stuff & giving it a try....(just used to 'own brands' at supermarket prices...tried one from the unmentionable supermarket..the Jamie Oliver one & it was one of the worst things I've ever drunk & I've drunk a lot...wouldn't even use it for cooking!!!) but maybe I'll have to revise my opinion.

JFYI these deals are still on and now you get a free bottle of wine if you spend over £25:whistling:
