Four Italian-Americans from New York's lower East Side hang around at a local bar. Charlie (Harvey Keitel), the most responsible of the group, tries to protect his girlfriend's cousin Johnny Boy (Robert De Niro) from the local debt collectors, but his young charge seems determined to live fast and die young. Heavily influenced by the French New Wave, 'Mean Streets' provided the first high-profile success for director Martin Scorsese and star Robert De Niro.

Nooooooooo! Give it another go. Judge it as an over achieving student film and it's way better than lots of studio efforts.

Was this done before Who's that knocking at my door, I liked that one much more. Never did get into this one, maybe I should give it another go.

Give it a go and if you don't like/want to keep it sell it back to CEX for 2 quid cash or 4 quid exchange

Not as much as Taxi Driver.

I've probably committed sacrilege saying that.

No that was watchable. Well once anyway for me.
After having watched Goodfellas first and wanting to get into Scorcese I was disappointed with this & raging bull. But I will try again as it has been some 20 years since I last watched it.
Classic!

Mean Streets came out later. I sought it out after seeing Goodfellas. It was from a different time but still has its moments.
