I'm not sure why this is being voted cold....because I can't find any similar wireless meat thermometer around, for this price. And for anyone who doesnt want a ruined crimbo turkey then this is a must.:p

Probably because most people just stick it in the oven, take a look every now and again, give it a poke when it looks done and if the juices run clear take it out.... wirelessly
Had one of these from Lidl, but it started giving incorrect readings after a couple of months so returned it for a refund. Got a more expensive one (OBH Nordica off eBay) to replace it as I find these thermometers essential when roasting beef. The wireless bit isn't essential though, and I think IKEA do a non-wireless version, which I've also had, but that packed up eventually as well (but lasted longer than the Lidl one).
hmm electronics that can withstand 250c and report wirelessly to the device.......
lol exactly what I was jus tthinking
No! The probe is inside the oven, but the probe wire passes outside the oven door to the transmitter. It's wireless from then on. So you can take the receiver round the house, have a bath or whatever, and see how the beef is doing. I probably could have phrased that better..
using one of these is OK if you work at a butchers and places like that but waste of time at home you would ruin about 5 roasts just trying to get the perfect temperature you go to buy another joint but its a different size then you have to start checking temperatures again!

The size of the joint is irrelevant, it's done when it reaches the required temperature at its centre.
I thought the title was slang!
I've got an 8 inch meat thermometer if anyone is interested. Females only.
got mine for 3quid in the jumble sale thing
pork shoulder slow cooked to 190degreesF - perfection
And adter years of perfectly cooked meat, the probe has just died on me. Anyone know where I can get a replacement? The transmitter and LCD display still work perfectly, seems a shame to toss them in the bin.
