I have been keeping an eye on this as my son has asked for it for christmas, this is the best price I've seen it yet. To be honest I think this looks brilliant.

If these could kill real life spiders, that would be awesome.

My son was given the Meccano Ferrari for christmas, he need a bit of help but loved building it, he saw this and other robots in the instruction booklet so naturally asked for one.
PROPER toy!!Think I'll get one for the kids.... Hot!
I bought this for my son last Christmas. Very cool to start with but eats batteries. 1 set of batteries last under 20 minutes. Please look into it before you part with your money. I emailed the company and got no response.

I was looking for a programmable robot that my son could build, Meccano usually has a good build quality and gives the satisfaction of the end product. Thank you for letting me know
Bought one for my son last year and it’s still in the box unopened. Looks great though and I may have to just build it myself. Good to know about the batteries though as they can be expensive.
Quite scary looking!

If you use it often, I would suggest looking at putting rechargeables in, decent NiMH should give you a bit longer...

Or if you are a technically minded, you could perhaps perform a lipo conversion, and use an RC lipo... A low voltage buzzer alarm on the balance port would suffice for telling you it's flat and avoid over discharge.
The only problem with rechargeable batteries they are lower voltage, so they may not last as long. Normal batteries are 1.5 volt and rechargeable batteries are 1.2 volt. It uses 5 C size batteries (usually come in packs of 2). To get a good quick charger and rechargeable batteries can be costly. Don’t get me wrong it was fun building it and my son loved it when he used his tablet with it. Just difficult trying to get him to understand on Christmas Day that the batteries are flat and have to wait till payday to get more for 15 to 20 minutes entertainment. So make sure you buy plenty.
