Hey Everyone,
Pretty sure this is a really good deal, I've been watching this tablet for a few months and never seen it drop to this price maybe i'm mistaken These still go for more on eBay (Brand New).

Probably best 8inch tablet. Hads great battery life, Kirin 960 can power through games, I think snapdragon 710 is the competitor and this beats it. Has 2k IPS Display, and beautiful speakers. Yes this is the 32gb with 4gb ram, but you can put an SD card and expand the storage. I know price is a little higher than the t5 but you get a kirin 960 with this which makes a huuuuge difference.

How the hell is this a deal with android 8??

If the Android 9 update isn't out yet, it seems to be planned at least. Not that it matters an awful lot.

mynexttablet.com/hua…-9/

My Samsung tab shipped with Android 8, but updated immediately to Android 9. It is still going to be listed as an Android 8 tablet. You can't just assume that the version it is described as and shipped with hasn't already been superseded.

Not that the update means much to many people. I'm not sure what additions Android 9 made, but I'm pretty sure I could have lived quite happily without them (although improved battery life is always welcome).

Just dug out my M5, it's on Android 9. Not that I could particularly tell a difference in my day-to-day usage, as PurplePerson indicates too.
That's a bargain

Devices that aren't supported well with android updates, usually aren't supported with security patches either.

My huawei P10 has seen regular updates since release 3 years ago. So im good here, but other devices fail to be supported. Samsung are one of the worst for that. Anyway, so its the security patches that are as important as are security patches for windows 10..etc.

I have this tablet, got it for a similar price last year. It has been a good tablet for me, it seems to be fast and well capable.
I don't think that there is much out there to match it, at this price. I will probably be proven wrong.
Shame it doesn’t have 4G data
Terrible deal
This drops to 192 frequently
Price Is.OK but as pointed out, it's actually.just increased as it was £192 for a couple of weeks until very recently.
Android 8.0, nah thanks!!
It's on Android 9 but stops there but it's the best Android tablet out there in this 8 inch format.
The M6 has been released in China and would have probably been here now as a natural successor but the whole Google ban with Huawei etc seems to have killed it for UK market.

May be others have an update on this?

Or a 10 inch screen, its a pity it does not have 6 gig of memory
I have the 10 inch one, it upgraded to android 9.0. Can't say I have any regrets, decent specs and display. Only downside is that the volume and power buttons are at an awkward place.

My M5 tablet prompted me with the update with December's Android security patches.
This tablet, along with Xiaomi Mi Tab 4 are the best tablets for money you can get at the moment.
No headphone jack, no Widevine L1 support.....not real a great deal though

Only if you don´t want to see Netflix in HD.

Hey, 10 inch screens aren't better. I have a 10.5" Samsung and an older LG Gpad 8.3. The Samsung is hands better internally; faster, with more RAM and built-in storage.

The LG is till my more used go-to tablet (even though it's still running Android 7 ) because it's just easier to hold/use and (much, much) lighter. I'm not a fan of 10 inch tablets and only caved and bought the Samsung because I got it really cheap. If it's going to have a screen that large it should be a convertible Chromebook.

I don't.
Movies are meant to be watched on big screens.

Comes with a headphone jack adapter. Curious to know why people refuse to use them? I also thought everyone uses wireless headphones now.

Android has some latency challenges on Bluetooth audio, messes up video watching.
I was hoping this would drop by another £20, not increase by £23.
Can confirm, does have Android 9, does have December 2019 security patches and gets them quickly, and does have Widevine L1. It's the best tablet under £300 in my opinion. It's seen better prices though, sometimes around £185 on sale (time machine notwithstanding).
Bought it 2 days ago for £192, just before price increases. It should arrive today. I was waiting for further price drop but made decision spontaneously and bought it regardless. I'm so glad I didn't just wait for it to go up again

I'll second that.

Was watching this for months. Never managed to catch a bargain one. So in the end, went for a Mi Pad 4 on Ebay for about £150 and I'm very pleased with it. This is meant to be more powerful, but I can't say the Xiaomi has ever let me down so far. (Didn't even bother punting it onto native Android. Thought about it, used Miui for a while, decided just to stick with it.)

Netflix HD was fixed on M8 over a year ago.

Use it all the time for offline content from Netflix or iplayer. SD also mounts as internal memory so 256gb for movies is perfect!!

No, that's nonsense, it doesn't. I wonder how I've been using my tablet with my Bluetooth headphones commuting for the past two years!

Why do people keep saying this. Huawei fixed the M5 with an update a year ago!

I got it for £159 few months ago
i am surprised to read that this tablet has android 9 as my T5 still has android 8. how come they have upgraded android on this and not the T5, which is out at the same time?
I've had this tablet for about 6 months, it's great. There's only one problem with it. With Bluetooth on, WiFi speeds drop really badly. It's a shame about this. If anyone has a fix for this let me know

Mine was the same so after reading about others in this thread having Android 9.1 I found this page on the Huawei site and my tablet is now running 9.1 with the December 2019 security patches. If the link doesn't work then google "Huawei Unable to receive official system updates"
