  • UMF Manuka honey has gained a worldwide reputation for its value in digestive health, skincare and wound care. Laboratory studies have shown that UMF Manuka honey is effective against a wide range of very resistant bacteria.

Yes.The only question is the strength and the authenticity of the Manuka.

Really? Let's have some links to that evidence then (by which I mean properly conducted scientific trials; not some quack with a clipboard).

Good price for manuka cheers, I'll give it a try.

Hot added.
Thank you so much for uploading this. I was going to buy this for almost twice the cost!
My mother thought this honey got its name from being produced in Manchester.

Snake. Oil.
Good find
Ordered 3.Thanks.
I read somewhere that the UK purchase alone of this honey would consume the entire world production, someone I know had burns treated 15 years ago with this but how can you really be sure of what you're buying?
*sigh* "Tasty immune-boosting sweetener"
Boosting your immune system is an autoimmune disease
Thanks. Ordered 2 heat

Great price I just bought the aldi one today though for £5ish, it's less than half the size and only umf5+ this seems a much better deal

Isn't that the same for pretty much all food produce? 'Organic' meat, 'Free Range' eggs, 'Ocean caught' fish, etc. None of us really know what we're buying but i suppose you have to trust what's on the package otherwise you wouldn't eat anything.
Quick question guys... I usually try to buy the best but cheapest honey. What is the difference between honey? Some are over £5 and some below. Pls can someone explain thanks
Wow good price for manuka
None of those supposed health benefits are true
Hey OP,

Have some heat, great deal and thanks to
Roujin-se for the code.

Cheers both
Thanks
If this is a genuine label then this is a very good deal. It is one of the best performing Manuka honey brands from on of the largest manuka honey producers in New Zealand. Why it is being sold by a candle supplier for this price is beyond my understanding.

I expect it to be either fake or have a short shelf life but for this brand the price is cutthroat.

I just spotted best before 10/05/2020, so as I suspected it is the short shelf life. It usually costs around £25 even with a short shelf life

Oddly enough, I heard this last night whilst watching something with Ainsley Harriet in and he mentioned that honey is the only food that will never be out of date!

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pub…255

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc…01/

Those are just two but there are many more. I don't know if eating it will give you any benefits or not. Good chance that there's no benefit over regular honey (but I have no idea).

However, the benefit in wound treatment is almost irrefutable unless you have something to disprove it?

Really? Please tell us more about how it 'performs'.

Manuka at 20+ UMF has hydrogen peroxide in which in small doses is very beneficial.

Where is the evidence?
Jack_Hudson07/02/2020 11:01

Those are not health benefits from consuming Mauka honey; they are specific to wound treatment. That woud be fine if the product was sold for that purpose, but we all know it isn't, and there is no evidence of it being used by the general public, in any significant numbers, for that purpose.

Manuka honey is a marketing con, plain and simple.
