Medion isn't everyone's cup of tea (although I've had 2 Medion laptops that were great) but this is a decent deal at the moment and you can get it over 4 months interest free with Paypal. It appears to come with a 36 month warranty too.

Anyone know how easy it would be to stick an extra 8gb of RAM in this one?

Can't say for certain but I'd imagine that it's not upgradeable.

To be honest, given that there are only integrated graphics on board, 8gb is probably going to be good enough for most things.
Ram not upgradable. It's soldered.

That's what I suspected. Ta for confirmation.

I find my development laptops generally need a chunk more for java, IDEs etc. But this might be fine for general use. Tempted!
Any decent laptops with 8gb Ram and 256ssd for under £450 ?£400 and below ideal.
Would appreciate your help

Hiya, there may be some i3 laptops in that price range but the closest I can find for an i5 at the moment is probably this from Scan, but it is a pre-order and it's not clear when it will be available. If I find any i3s, I'll reply again.:)

There should be plenty of Ryzen 5 laptops in that price range, that’s what I’d be looking at - usually Lenovo or HP posted around £300-350 but seems prices are high in this current climate.

Yup, that's the problem, laptop prices are costing roughly £50 to £100 more than usual (if you can even get one). Hopefully, it won't last forever!

It's a good deal. Full metal chassis as well. Touch screen is useful.

Yeah that's why I went for this over the Asus zen book. I have a foldy touch screen on my old laptop and quite like it when I'm sitting on the sofa with no mouse!

That looks really nice for the price...just the pain about not knowing when it would come!

Yeah, it's a pretty decent deal but, as you say, not knowing how long it's going to take isn't ideal.

Out of the three I posted yesterday, I'd have bought this as well... still very tempted. Hope it turns out to be a good purchase.
Really like this. Just contemplating now do I pay £100 more than the Viglen which is identical but this has my preferred key layout... Also, are the keys labeler in English or another language?

That would definitely be a deal breaker for me.
Isn’t this quite a lot for a general use kinda’ laptop?

It’s no comparison but I’ve just bought a 13” MacBook Pro from eBay for £125, stuck 8gb RAM and a 120gb SSD in it for £45 total. Result is that it runs Ableton well and my home working programs. Cheaper option for home working at least.

I bought a medion akoya last year from box it's very good ( to me ! ) It replaced an 8 year old hp so was no comparison , it's a quality feel to it , mine has 1tb and a 128 ssd and 8GB ram it was advertised as a ' gaming laptop ' so for my general use it's superb ! I like the extended warranty that medion offer as standard I'm not a gamer and imagine mine would be a very basic gaming laptop ? Box also have good finance packages if you require
This gets a massive thumbs up from me and heat too
Not a QWERTY keyboard on the pictures, is this correct?
Pondered too much and back to £599.

Have a look on eBay for a Lenovo ThinkPad L380 Yoga - it's basically the same design and a better spec. I got one for £400 brand new open box. There are lots of deals about there.
