Looks a good deal for the price. Full HD. Decent Processor. Downsides would be no HDMI and I have no idea what a Medion laptop is like.

Your're better off buying direct from Laptop Outlet for the same price,you can also pay via Paypal for 0% over 12 months and there's a possibility of student beans discount?

Amazon have price matched (sold by Laptop Outlet)
Is this a good deal? Very good CPU, FHD screen and nice big SSD (256GB);
The not-so-good:- 4GB RAM; it's soldered in and is not changeable. I don't think this is a big issue although others will disagree; it depends what you're going to be doing;
Small screen. Connect an external screen via HDMI/Display Port.
1 year warranty. If sold by Medion you'd get 2 years so its a shame just to get 1 year.

If you're happy with the screen size I'd say HOT deal.

Typing this on a 18.4" £399 Medion Akoya P8610 bought in 2010.

Medion offer a good band for buck but the plastic chassis is terrible. I've a 17" akoya and it flexes when you type... Good deal though

The spec looks good for the money, but the quoted 4 hours battery life is a deal breaker for me.

Limited to 4gb means most people would be better off spending a bit more for either a minimum of 6/8gb or the option to install more. 4gb is very poor for this price.

If you want something better with 8gb ram, 256gb ssd then you will have to jump to probably £500, quite a difference.

It definitely has HDMI, and according to reviews (and owners that opened it up) the SSD appears to be a standard M2 type that can be upgraded. Weirdly, it looks to have enough space in the chassis for a 2.5" drive, but there's no SATA connector. The screen is also reportedly very good and bright, and there's a USB-C port.

Biggest limitation is that the RAM is mounted on the PCB, there's no SODIMM slot, so no chance to upgrade it.

I'm not familiar with the built quality / qulity control of Medion (and also their customer support), but if there are no red flags and you're happy with 4GB then it's quite a bargain.

anyone get the student beans discount to work??

Backlit keyboard too

From: laptopoutlet.co.uk/ter…use
"up to 15% discount on a selected range of laptops, tablets and other devices, from leading manufacturers including Toshiba, Lenovo, HP, ASUS and Acer."

So my guess is this laptop isn't included in the student discount.

Can you recommend a similar laptop at similar price with similar speca

Surprisingly large ssd especially at today's higher ssd prices wow. Half the price goes towards the ssd. Anyway looks like a nice laptop. Under spec cpu so loading times here and there. If it has touch screen then good value.

All reviews mention trackpad on these are shocking! Still searching for the ideal laptop

Anyone got one? Any good?
