I've just found that thread … I've just found that thread http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/medion-akoya-e54009-21-5-widescreen/704215Now if it is the same monitor as the Aldi one which does have HDMI then this is hot... Seems Medion don't even know their own spec..

Looks like the same!

No I deleted that post as the model that Aldi were selling at the time was the Medion Akoya X54000 (which I bought back then and pictured below) This was the newer model with HDMI.

The spec is correct on the Medion website for the model the OP has listed.

Sorry for any confusion.

No plus it's an older model BUT still good for the price!

could someone with experience of these please enlighten me to how these touchscreens work ?

Does it basically make your PC like an iPad for instance (or any other touchscreen tablet / device for that matter)

plus i understand you need Windows 7 for it to work ?

thanks in advance..

Yes, everything you do with your mouse you can do with the touchscreen, including pinch and squeeze to zoom etc.

Angry Birds is fun to play on a screen this size!

I think it is only Win 7 too.

Decent.

Touch screens seem a cool idea but the only thing is the finger smears left and the fact that you have to reach across the desk to operate the screen. With a mouse on the desk, your wrist and forearm are supported.

I don't think it's meant as a replacement (although it could I guess) but as another peripheral like a graphics tablet etc, that would be more useful for certain programs.

Would this work for porn sites.?? oO

Is there such a thing as 3d touch screen yet?

Im Confused... How can this be Full HD when it only has VGA in?
Surely it would need at least DVI?

Link doesn't work for me, is it this one? It is £139 & £7 p&p

VGA is just the connector. (Which is analogue)- VGA supports past 1920 x 1080 (as long as your video card can handle this) - usually VGA connectors on video cards support up to 2048x1536. The only difference with this and DVI / HDMI would be that the analogue to digital conversion might induce noise to the screen (this can result in slight ghosting etc but it all depends on the quality of the parts that does this)
My Xbox 360 uses the VGA connector on my TV for 1080p for example.

Really tempted, only one question: is this wall mountable?
