£314 to build it yourself without shipping or overall warranty pickup.

Can someone recommend a good pci-e graphics card for this that will improve the quality when playing games but doesn't cost the earth?

good price if you can fix this yourself should something go wrong; Medion CS.is useless.

Medion customer care is not useless. Why do people on this site exaggerate everything. If your PC goes wrong it has to be sent to Germany to fix it.Everything is paid for including postage both ways.It just takes up to two weeks.

Not a bad PC for the money, but ignore the bit where it says this in the description: "Whether it's homework, research, entertainment or gaming this PC fits the bill.

This is NOT a gaming PC, the HD7660D APU is extremely poor for gaming and shouldn't be bought with the intention of playing games on a half decent quality level.

AMD themselves recommend a HD 6670 graphics card for a dual graphics setup. You can pick one up for around £60, and with some quick searching probably find reviews for the different HD 6670 cards available.

I was actually quite surprised by this part of the review. Okay it's no gtx690 or hd7990 etc, but for a free inbuilt chip, it's fine

We're used to AMD Vision on-chip graphics being very capable and this system proves that in our 3D gaming tests. While it can't handle Dirt Showdown at a full 1,920x1,080 resolution and Ultra quality, dropping the settings to 1,280x720 and High quality produced a fantastic frame rate of 42.9fps. Even at 1080p, keeping the resolution at high quality meant that we got a playable 27.9fps. You'll be able to quite happily play 3D games on this system, if you're prepared to make a few compromises when it comes to graphical quality (that said they'll still look better than current consoles).

Exactly what i was going to say- you can crossfire the GPU with the onboard intergated graphics in the CPU

What motherboard did you use in your theoretical setup? I assume it'd be quite better than the one used in this machine?

Actually, numerous reviews will show that it CAN game at "half decent" settings. For the casual or RTS gamer it should be fine, and you always have the option to upgrade later.

The cheapest FM2 there is at £35 - biostar I think, so not that much better LOL - I think it was roughly £95 cpu, £35 m/board, 37 for ram, 22 for case and 500w psu, 7 for keyboard and mouse, 12 for dvd-rw, 48 for 1tb hdd and £68 for windows 8 64 bit OEM.

Marketing, my dear friend! I never stated anything negative. You were the one to do that :-)

Anyway, I can't judge others when I got a deal from HUKD last week on a computer - £23.99 second hand. Bargainicious!

Yes, I broke it down on second post. I think it was roughly £95 cpu, £35 m/board, 37 for ram, 22 for case and 500w psu, 7 for keyboard and mouse, 12 for dvd-rw, 48 for 1tb hdd and £68 for windows 8 64 bit OEM.

Which makes this a superb deal at £299

TBH...A half decent graphics card is half the price of this pc...which wouldnt make much sense to me....just cross fire a 6670 card as mentioned with the integrated onboard chip for an extra £50, the 450w psu is fine and you'll have a cracking low budget gaming pc.

450W, should be fine. Way better than the Dells at this price point.

here's and example of what could be possible.....with this onboard chip and then adding a £50 HD 6670 graphics card

youtube.com/wat…XoM

AMD has new chips coming out for desktop users in june btw, it will have 10% better cpu and amd 8000 series graphics.

Worth noting if you do crossfire with 6670, you might get some microstutter, but otherwise for £350 (including HD6670) this is a fantastic price.

In my experience Medion customer support is the worst I have ever came across. Yes, i got given a 3 year warranty with my laptop, but not once out of the four times I sent them my laptop did they fix the problem.

After a year of having my laptop, it started having major overheating issues. Just playing relatively old games would get my GPU up to 100C! So I had to stop doing that. I sent it off and they sent it back within a month or so. No big deal seeing as it goes to Germany. First thing I do is load up a game and then it turned itself off within 5 minutes. Turns out, instead of fixing the problem, they had just set the gpu temp threshold to 90C so my laptop automatically shuts down. I then invested in some external cooling software which didn't help so sent it off again.

After I get it back, nothing is fixed so I leave it for a bit. Then after a couple of months the power supply wire starts to loosen, presumably because of the heat. Next thing I know, the power supply is sending off sparks everywhere so that has to go back. This happens twice. Second time, however, I had it resting on my cooling mat which was on my legs. Absolutely **** myself so jumped a mile and screen broke. I send it off and now they want to charge me £100 because apparently it was my fault.

I don't know if I was just very unlucky and had one shoddy build out of 1000 well built ones. But I would never reccomend Medion to anyone ever, no matter the savings.

ive deleted it...thanks..missed that

tempted by this since my desktop died, the graphics card should still work in it though, an old gtx 260. Would using that card or getting the 6670 hybrid crossfire give better performance?

ive re-read it 5 times .. still cant see where it mentions 450w ? and its probably a generic one

personally,i am getting on nicely with the onboard gfx until i can get a better one,it runs GW2 on maximum settings at 1080,crysis2 on high settings, pretty much everything i have thrown at it.Total bargain at this price

i have been IN the computer industry for probably longer than i will admit but started in the industry before most of you were born.

I would say that the industry is not as nearly are nerdy about cpu, ram speeds than most of your. FFS its a cheap pc that plays games and runs MS Office for a good price. I cannot believe ppl are breaking down parts and pricing then up as I am sure its not for us!! man you have way too much time on your hands.
