Are these noisy? Anyone know?
anything with a "U" cpu isn't noisy but slow.
From what I've heard the battery is terrible but good specs though

The U means the lower end of the processor

1050s arent as good as your 960/970 etc, in my opinion paying another £150 and getting one of those is better but £600 for this 1050 isn't too bad but frame rates on high graphics, higher tier games you'll expect around 30 ish frames which my 460m did about that back in the days
Not a spec I would attribute to a gaming laptop.

However for £600 this is a good price for what you get.
On that basis I am voting this hot.
So no backlit keyboard? I want a laptop of this spec but don't want to spend over £500

The gtx 1050 is quite a bit better than the 960m actually. It sits between the 960m and the 970m, its perfectly adequate for 1080p gaming but the processor in this laptop will let it down quite a bit.
I bought this last night. Didn't think to post. Heat given.

I agree to differ as im on about frame rates, the 960 gets a few better frames nothing significant but still, the 1050 might be better in terms of software and such that part i agree but i bought one last night thought id rather save money than pay out £200 more for a 970/60

For this price I doubt you can buy a laptop with better spec. Id prefer a better processor and the 1050ti but I would expect to pay £100 more for that spec.

I dont know of any gaiming laptop with a good battery life - 3 hours is usually the maximum you can expect and more realistically about 1.5 to 2 hours.
1050 is a trash GPU, 1050Ti should be the minimum you go for even if you’re a casual gamer. Not good specs at all really.

I've been looking for a laptop with this spec for a while and also wanting a backlit keyboard. You won't find anything with this spec for under £600. I've been looking at around £670.

You can beg to differ all you want it doesnt change facts, also were comparing the laptop version of the 1050 and the 960m because thats actually what were talking about not the desktop versions where the 960 is ever so slightly better.

On the laptop side the 1050 has a clock speed of 1354mhz and a 1493mhz boost clock vs 1029mhz with a 1097mhz boost for the 960m an equal amount of cuda cores but the 1050 has memory clock of 7000mhz vs the 5000mhz memory clock of the 960m. You cant beat facts.

Now if thats not enough try looking at game benchmarks of the laptop version of these gpus NOT the desktop versions as someone linked a video to.
