Why is anyone supposed to care about what you are looking for? This deal wasn't created just for you. There are other people in this world you know. Some people may be open to other laptop sizes, hence other people discussing alternatives, and they're giving their opinion to the deal poster politely so I don't see what your problem is.

Also only has a 1050, unless I'm mistaken! Thanks for sharing though
Having owned both a 15 and 17 inch gaming laptop, 15 all the way if portability is anything to go by.

So what?? Sorry, but a 15" laptop is not a 17" laptop. Not sure why some people think that anyone in the market for a 17" laptop would be interested in a 15" laptop!!!

Absolute rubbish. Anyone in the market for a 17" laptop would be less than interested in a 15" laptop. Not sure some if you eejits get it!
Edited by: "tintowellfan" 1st Jan
And to give my opinion, it looks a good laptop. I have a 17 inch laptop and it is quite large - I do wish I'd have gone for a 15 inch. But still, if you're looking for this size it seems a good deal.

Some people may be first time buyers and may be toying between the two sizes - I was when I first bought my laptop. Plus, what's the harm in people giving polite advice? It's not harming anyone. I don't recall the OP saying he was ONLY in the market for a 17 inch laptop...

They haven't asked for a 17" laptop and referenced "moving about" - that's why @Lee_Gilbert imparted some experience on portability - i.e. "if portability is anything to go by".

You've accused him of something that, in actual fact, you're the only one doing.

You're just using your own assumption as fact.

Yes, but not relevant to this post. Sorry, I am just a bit peed off that almost every laptop post fails to give the size of the laptop, assuming that we all want a 15" one. So when someone posts a deal for a 17" laptop all the 15" laptop eejits think we are wrong to want a 17" laptop. I am not sure how better to make my point, but a 17" laptop is not a 15" laptop.

If the OP strictly wanted a 17 inch laptop, I could understand it might be annoying to see recommendations for a 15 inch laptop. However, he seems open to advice and hasn't specified a size, so advice on different sizes is more than fair.
More to the point what's this laptop like in terms of performance and reliability?
Why don't you all take your stupid pickering elsewhere or do something a bit more constructive like finding me a sub 600 laptop like that Lenovo 710s deal posted a couple days ago because the other deals posted since, like this have been WACK!!!!!!

Sorry, just read again the OP. I was just a bit peed off that every laptop post seems to be about 15" laptops. AND when someone posts a 17" deal all the 15" fanny boys feel the need to pile in with their tuppence worth. Anyway, sorry for the misunderstanding, and in my defence it is the day after the biggest bevvy day of the year.

£900 for a Medion? Seriously??
Is this 15 or 17" screen?
Hmm not sure about this one?

Good GPU but needs 8GB more RAM and that CPU "may" hamper it a little for certain games. From the little I've read about them, 17" laptops seem to have more issues than 15" laptops. Probably to do with heat build up which can then cause the CPU (already only an i5) to throttle. Obviously check to see if you can find any reviews.

Chill out
Personally, if I was looking for a gaming laptop (I’m not at present), I would just want the best bang for book offering out there. 15” or 17”.

Either way, it’s good for the community to have alternatives mentioned on the thread. I don’t think any disrespect was meant to the OP by doing that.
Enjoy the screen people , it's shocking! Bought this model from eBay for 969, about 6 months ago. Coming from a full led backlit HD panel on a 2017 Dell laptop, this is shocking. And I realised today why, it says TN on the packing. You have been warned.... But having said that, it's still a hell of a laptop, if you can put up with a poop screen.

I'm in the market for EITHER a 17" or 15" laptop, I don't mind as long as the spec is really good! But 15" is of course preferred for portability, or you might as well get a full blown desktop.

Its not subjective its a fact.
eBay seller had a refurb of this laptop for £750 (using the recent global discount code)

Not particularly relevant, just useful to know it does go significantly cheaper

Exactly, 17" isn't a laptop. It's a desktop replacement.

Might as well save your cash and build a more powerful mITX system if you don't care about proper portability. Then at least you can upgrade it in a few years, instead of throwing the whole thing away and starting again.

A good place to start is the Silverstone Sugo SG13B, lovely little small case and fits in a large backpack. Can be had for under £40 most places. If that's too big try the more expensive Silverstone SST-RVZ01 Raven (at about £70-90).

BUT OLLIE I CAN'T GAME ON A BUS/AIRPLANE/ETC WITH AN MITX SYSTEM.

Yeah and you won't on a 17 inch laptop either, as it's too big for the tray tables, will burn your lap and cook your nads, and the battery will last about 40 minutes playing AAA titles. Lets face it, your 17 inch gaming laptop needs a desk/table to work so you might as well build a small form factor desktop system and reap the benefits.
