Can't find it online, only this link to the full price, and it doesn't give any more spec.

Will have another look instore tomorrow.

I've been to Sainburys to see this laptop and the specs are - Intel Dual core Processor T2310 (1.46 ghz), 2048 ram, 160gb hard disk, onboard graphics and webcam.

I must say I was tempted but I could get a dual core 2 duo for just a bit more so I passed on it. Good for £399 though but no cigar. ;-)

It looks like the MD96480 is £599 direct from Medion and £799 in Sainsbury's!

The proc won't be up to much with V-Premium. Get a better spec for less at Dell (and if things go wrong you won't have the probs that Medion bought from a supmarket will give you...).

I'm here and you are there; unless you know something I don't?

Well, I for one would like to know what experiences you have both been through before committing my hard-earned to medion. :?

i had a pc i bought a few years back that i run pretty much day and night it died a few months after i got it where it had prob had a few years "normal" use i run them up they sent out a enj a few days later he could not fix a few hours after he left a had a call from medion to arrange to have it picked up

i was going on holiday a few days later so i said not to worry until i got back a few mins later i got another call to say they would pick it up and have it back the day after i got back off holidays

i still left it till i got back (they picked up and fixed it pretty sharpish as well)

can you see why i would be so impressed with medion and there AAA service

my exp: like steve10574 i once bought one of these (as a present). the machine was sent back twice under guarantee and fixed each time. it developed more serious problems about six months out of guarantee and my brother sold it on ebay as unworking. someone bought it for about £45.

my own experience has been with dells (approx 12) and sonys (2) - had hardware problems with both vaios & was unhappy enough with one of them to give it away after 2 years; have had only two h/ware problems with my dells - one was fixed with a phone call and a replacement item arriving the next day, the other required a dell engineer to call at my house next day (no charge) and replace a part too complicated for me to fiddle with alone. I'm sticking with dell for quality and customer service

Theres a decent one in aldi atm for £4.99

 worst I have come accross.

said before, say it again.

top class support from medion from laptops, desktops and pdas that have had issues. (work it it support so deal with all sorts)

Dell support is ok if you have contacts (gold support/account managers) direct to public can be shocking.

HP/Compaq is intresting to say the least...

I have had 3 Medion systems. They were ALL very good for the money. However, I had a minor problem with my most recent system and I called the Service hotline - what a nightmare. They job the service out to a third party.

After 4 weeks they had not been to either see or diagnose the problem.

... long story cut short i was without a computer for 7 weeks and all they had to do was to swap a HDD out ( this was an easy problem to diagnose and I had told then the problem on my first contact with them).

I was so pissed because I had been so happy with my previous buys and had recommended them to my friends and family, but never again. I cannot be without a machine for 7 weeks.

Although I think their systems are great value for money at the point of sale if you ever have to call upon their service dept. FORGET IT!

I've never had a medion (and doubt I ever will), but dell "support" is about the worst excuse for support I've ever encountered. Even sony are a dream to deal with in comparison.

Yeah....taking things back to no-questions-asked supmarkets(?) is really difficult.

I used to repair medion PC's.

Many a time I had to replace parts and diagnose faults AFTER they had come back from the workshop.

We where given parts to install that came without packaging. CPU's, memory, system boards where rattling about and loose when we collected them from the couriers.

I lost count of how many DAO's I had and how many refurbished parts I installed into users PC's.

Make your own minds up.

Well I have a Medion MD96400 laptop which until I got my new HP this week was on every day and never had a problem. I have dropped it more than once and spilt coffee on it too. Mine was made in Germany so I dont know if they are better built than these.
I have only used medion customer twice both about my mobile phone. First was because I had lost the adaptor for my charger and they sent me one through the post for free and the other was for a replacement battery for the phone which they couldn't get a spare for me but did phone me back to tell me.

:thumbsup:I've had a Medion PC for almost 4 years now. I bought it from Aldi and have had it running all day almost every day. The only problem I have ever had with it was the graphics card fan dying, and that was only a month ago. I was happy to replace the graphics card as the system was such a bargain anyway, and it's still a decent spec machine. Medion's website has always been up to date with patches and up to date drivers. I haven't had a Medion laptop, but I would definitely recommend Medion products.
