Judging for a few youtube videos (viewed at 720p), this camera has impressive video and audio especially for £30. I'd bear in mind though that you'll need to pay a further £5-£10 online for a 4GB or 8GB SD card.

They also had 4GB SD card for £6 if I remember correctly.

Don't quote me on that one though!

Also thank you Summoner for the pictures and making the hyperlinks.

Where did you get the £30.00 from and any proof this is real as ALDI is a pain to get to for me

There's one literally 5 mins walk from my house but I've never been in it, it was built about 9 years ago.
Guess I've finally got a reason to pop in

The price was reduced in store from £39.99 to £30.

I don't have any proof (though I did buy one!) but i'm sure if anyone goes tomorrow they will update the thread.

It is not listed on Aldi page as a current offer, so it is a reduced item from a previous offer?
So may not be available locally even at the higher price.

I'm not sure about this model, but last time i bought hd camera from Aldi i found it to interpolate the resolution and at the same time skip second of recording every five seconds. Of course I've taken it back for a refund. If it's anything lake the other one it's a complete waste of money.

Could be a slow memory card? You could try a class 6 one.

I have the receipt ]http//yf…80j however 4am wasn't the best sort of time to be taking and uploading photos of receipts.

Bought one
£30 bargain even if its not that good:)

none in gorgie, edinburgh.

and £39.99 in the other aldi store in musselborough, even got them to test scan it, they said its even advertised in the paper as 39.99 not 30.00

You have to be careful with these cheap Medion 'HD' camcorders. I bought one last month from Sainsburys, supposedly reduced from £80 to £25, but the quality was simply shocking and I ended up taking it back for a refund, as it wasn't even reasonable value at £25, let alone £80.

Its not just that although nominally HD, the resolution was worse than the VGA video on my compact camera, the fact is that the recorded picture was so jittery, that unless you mounted it on a tripod, it gave everyone motion-sickness to watch the results. The picture was also very noisy and washed out, characteristic of a cheap and nasty sensor.

I'm not voting cold, but I'm not voting hot either. Just bear in mind that you get what you pay for. Don't expect this to be up to much.

I tried using a faster card than the one that it came with but no real difference. I've bought a different brand in Curys sale for around 40 and it was brilliant on the bundled card.

Reviews look okay/good

Although others say otherwise

Are people standards too high on here?

Can anybody offer an alternative?

I need something that waterproof/resistant, and this seems very good value (If I can find one in any shops)

What is available for £30 thats better??? If you know it would defo help a few of us on here

Interested in this - how good is it at taking photos? How many mega-pixies?

Anyone know how to check local stock? ... and has it been confirmed at £30 or is it £39.99?

It has a one megapixel still camera, so not great.

I agree with andyken.

I bought the "underwater" version from Sainsburys for £25 a few months ago and the quality was shocking. Complete and utter waste of money as was not even watchable. You could buy one and try it as Aldi are very good at returns as long as you are within the 28 days.

Cheers

I like my Kodak ZX1 (£49 but had been £120) which is also well made/shower proof and can't fault the picture quality in good light.

Cheers; may wait and grab a better model when we need one. Heat given anyway.

None at Leeds (Ring Road) Aldi.

Aldi usually give a 3 year warranty on Medion/ Tevion products. What's the video quality like. I don't really need one...... mustn't buy one, mustn't buy one...... but I bet I will if they're there when I go for my weekly shop
