Pink?!? spray paint time...

Sainburys Barkingside had one as well, picked up for my wife. It's definitely rather pink....

So these any good?

Bit early to tell, it's certainly quite a basic machine in terms of build quality , but for 200 quid don't expect much more . Has build in wireless b/g and a dvd-writer, screen and keyboard seem ok and all started up happily enough. Currently just stripping off the extra stuff that came pre-installed (google desktop, bulldog security and others) and running through the various system updates. Also trying to see if it qualifies for the windows7 upgrade.

Do you possibly have the full specs? I am actually very interested, my Textiles Student Partner needs a laptop but needs to be able to run Photoshop etc.

EDIT: A model number would be especially good.

At work at the moment but I'll check this evening and post model number and specs.

That's dirt cheap, value for money specwise.

Guess it's a pretty good deal...but urgh...Vista Home Basic

Medion is probably one of the worst laptop brands I have ever experienced. I had one, which overheated and was replaced, then the new one did the same, but I ran out of warranty time eventually. I would much rather buy a more reputed brand for the same amount of money, and get slightly worse specs.

Voted hot, purely on what you get for your money.

But having seen these instore, I wouldn't buy one myself. Really didn't look like it would hold up to being dragged around everywhere with me, and the less said about aesthetics the better IMO.

I would fork out an extra £80 and get a reputed brand, although in saying that Dell have been known to rip people off too, voted hot for value for money.

Medion make seems ok - Budget value

Agree processor is not top spec

But for someone on budget, rather than buying a 2nd hand model, get this. Great value for money for students, looking for 2nd laptop, gifting for wife/girlfriend / mistress....

Download Windows 7 RC or the upgrade and you could use it till 2010. Once Google Chrome comes out, get that OS and stick it on.....

Get notebook stickers from poundland and stick on top, multi colour

i recently bought a medion laptop from sainsburys with vista premium.

How do I check if i can get a free windows7 upgrade?

Writing this on the Medion laptop I bought at Sainsburys in their post-Xmas sale. Never had a problem. Installed Windows 7 RC with no issues. Runs cool and quiet.

Sadly none in Macclesfield, Hazel Grove or Cheadle.

nothing within 10 miles of brum :-) hot deal if you can find it

not a hot deal when you have to buy another one in 13 months time cos it falls to bits! COLD.

Have had a medion laptop for about 18 months. Used by teenager so not exactly well cared for. Haven't had a problem at all.
