Many of the best apps are self installed, locked out of S mode. Even S mode will have the dozen or so security holes per month that Windows is famous for.

you would be very sad if any OS is not famous for security holes
279.99 for this!?!?!?!

They now call Windows 10 S 'Windows 10 in S mode'.
To get out of S mode you install Windows 10 but you then cannot get into S mode.

No one wanted a crippled 10 so now they get free confuscation in order to improve marketability.

If this was £200 it would be bang on I reckon. The n4100 is a pretty decent performer.

That’s what I was thinking. It’s a decent low power chip but this is far too much money for it really... you’re very close to Ryzen 3/5 at this price.
Could this be a good Neverware option?
Intel celeron in 2019? Cold
The N4100 is not a bad budget cpu, although truth be told, this hardware spec is ideal for the Chrome OS which will run much snappier than Win 10. For Win 10 I generally recommend a core i3 cpu as a minimum but that will cost significantly more. If your computing requirements are basic it's worth considering due to:
1) 3 yr warranty and included 1yr Office 365 sub.
2) Full HD touch screen (quality unknown but should be at least ok)
3) Full 360 deg hinge so can be used in different modes i.e. tablet, tent etc
3) Aluminium top and bottom to give it a more quality feel
4) Easy to add additional SSD storage up to 256GB.

BTW this model is the Medion E3222 (MD 62450) it says so in Aldi's embedded video. Not to be confused with the Medion E3222 (MD63150) variant floating around Europe with a slightly faster Intel Pentium N5000 cpu.

While I wouldn’t pay £279 for this machine, you do realise that Celeron architecture has drastically changed since pre-millennium - it isn’t the same super-slow Covington chip... Well, maybe you don’t, I’m not sure but Intel should kill off the sub-brand if this is what the average person thinks of it without actually using one. This is a very power efficient but surprisingly capable chip.

The next one up, n5000, is actually on a par with the 5th Feb Core M
