Luckily ordered it not collected yet so will get this price when I collect
Does anyone know if the screen is IPS ?
I remember selling Medion PC's out of Toys R us 15 years ago. Great spec but iffy build quality at a low low price

Slightly more for the I7 version. …Slightly more for the I7 version. http://www.argos.co.uk/product/7423903?rec=PDP[7342606]:bottomSlider:P1:OHAT:alternative:7423903:c6292p9IdSYVH4dlOVajWorth it?

Noooooooo! Just no.

If you want to play games (which as this is a gaming laptop would seem to be the whole point) you need the 1050ti as posted as a bare minimum.....your link is for a basic 1050.
Avoid like the plague my friend.

And I believe the i7 is slower. I7 7500u Vs i5 7300hq!
Looks a good deal. The listing on the Argos site doesn't mention it having an SSD, but in the Q&A section there are two Argos staff confirming it does have a 128GB SSD.

I think an i5 and 1050ti go hand in hand. If it was a1060 6gb then the i7 is a better pair
Heat.
The 1050Ti with 4GB isn't a bad card, especially around this price bracket.

Yep. Benchmarks place the i5 7300HQ at around 23% faster than the i7 7500u. cpu.userbenchmark.com/Com…877

This is a pretty decent spec for the price.

It's unlikely that an i5 hq (4 cores) is going to bottleneck a 1060 6gb gpu.
TN or ips panel

I've got one with a 1050 and I can honestly say that it's satisfactory for 1080p gaming.. Obviously not on ultra, but medium/high is fine.
33153369-wU2Z8.jpgGot this laptop a few weeks ago. The M.2 128gb SSD has a read/write of 2.7GB/s and 745MB/s respectively, which wasn't mentioned on any site I found, nor was it mentioned on Medions product page. All in all, I'd highly recommend this laptop, especially at this price.

Saying 'Out Of Stock' for delivery or collection now.

I'm having no luck whatsoever on my laptop hunt, not going to cry about missing out on a Medion, but damn I need something soon and I'm seeing very little for worthy prices. Grrr the hunt goes on!
sold out :-(
any similar offers please notify me. Thank you to all the community :-)

I take it that the operating system is installed to the 1TB drive? If so, how is the speed of the laptop in terms of booting and loading certain windows programs?

Its installed on the ssd even tho my one is nvme drive. It boots instantly and loads programs very quickly.
Suggest anyone still interested in this laptop, rechecks for stock. I just checked two minutes ago and it was showing up in stock in my local Argos (despite being out of stock last night). Have reserved one and (hopefully) will collect later this morning.
Heat given. Not in stock anywhere near me though
To my amazement, Argos did indeed have my laptop waiting for me! Just setting it up now. First impressions are good. Feels both smaller & lighter than my three year old Asus N551. TBH, this laptop looks much better in the flesh than in photographs I've seen.

Can confirm what others have already said in that this does come with a 128GB SSD & a USB-Type C port (not Thunderbolt enabled but I can live with that). Seems quiet enough but will know more when I can test out some games. Not 100% sure if this is a true IPS screen as it darkens very slightly if you look at it from side-on. However it's definitely NOT a TN panel as it doesn't do that weird 'ghosting' thing when you look down on the panel. The screen seems plenty bright enough for me.

One question? Any one know what the warranty is on laptop this? When I asked, Argos said one year but the sticker on the front says two years.

Many thanks OP! I've been looking for a decent, potent but cheap gaming laptop for several months now. I think I've ended up with the right machine for me!

Edit: one other thing. This laptop comes without any sort of manual (all my other Medions did). It's not a problem for me and there's probably one on-line somewhere but if you're one of those people who likes a manual to read, you're going to be disappointed.

Just ordered! Thank you, I've been looking for a new laptop for a while for music production and video editing after my MacBook Pro died. I'm simply not paying MacBook prices again, 2012 model and it's now completely dead with a faulty GPU
Out of stock 😿😿😿
This is a dead thread now but in case this deal comes back, it looks like the Medion X-6603 is simply a rebrand of the Lenovo Legion Y520. Both the basic external shape & layout of the internals & ports are identical. The X6603 has a bluey-white backlit keyboard whereas the Y520's is red (much better IMO) and it lacks the 'super-cooling' fan mode (which I'm fine with). If you want to get a feel as to how good the X6603 is, there are far more reviews of the Y520 out there than of the X6603.

Still very pleased with my X6603. The difference in visual quality & fluidity on games like Assassin's Creed Unity, over and above my old Nvidia 850m laptop, are truly staggering!

How do you find the screen?
I have one reserved but have read negative reviews about brightness and colour
Would greatly appreciate some feedback
Thanks
