Considering you get a 3year warranty and that laptops can and do fail within that time .. the price of cover included makes this worth considering.

Good deal, I got a laptop from Aldi, and I am really impressed with it.

Why is this voted cold? Its a great Laptop, Medion are very good. I have had a few products from them.
Unless someone can provide a link to a bteer spec laptop then dont vote at all

whats the graphics card? integrated or dedicated?

Not sure why this is cold....comparing this to others w similar specs, this deal seems like a bargain.

I bought a Medion Laptop from Aldi's nearly 2 years ago - and have been very pleased with it. Only came with 1gb ram, but doubled to the maximum a few months ago. I really need more so this latest offer seems good.

Anyone know if I would be able to increase on the 3gb in the future if I needed to?

Seems a good deal to me

'The phrase "Mobile Intel Graphic Media Accelerator" translates into English as "This isn't designed for gaming"

Any game what people class as decent will not run, well I lie, it will run at about 5 FPS.'

That's a pretty positive review  As has been said it's not for gaming but £450 for a decent spec with 3 year warranty would tempt me (if I didn't already have more laptops than I can use!).

Just picked one up this morning - very impressed for the price!

Given the spec it performs as expected, haven't tested HDMI output yet, hopefully doing so tonight.

Only gripes I've had (due to being picky, rather than build quality) are the lack of a physcial volume control (it's a Fn button + Up or Down) and the Delete being top right, and the dot in the numerical keypad is bizarrely above the number 7 key.

The bag it comes with isn't amazingly protective, but I'd always recommend in getting a bigger ebtter bag for any notebook - google the techair 16" or 17" bags for good ones (that now have lifetime warranty!).

Ports are at the sides of the laptop rather than the back, so you might need more space around it on a desk if you plan on hooking things up to it - one USB hub would limit the number of connections (I hear they're cheap in Poundland ).

Screen is clear, bright and I found the contrast more than good. (No dead pixels for me as well).

3yr warranty makes this better value than the equivalent Dell Inspiron in my opinion, which I was considering for work, but then went for this one instead.
