83p an egg? Hot!

its chocolate and its on offer...hot from me

Very hot. I'm sure Tesco and Morrisons will join them soon enough. I bought at £1.00 an egg.

Google search "The Fat Extremists"

Suffice to say it's a big conspiracy to turn the skinny and gorgeous (like myself) into proportionally challenge people. Don't let them have their cake and eat it!

Damn it, bought some from morrisons because i thought sainsbury's weren't having any more offers on them... doh!

I thought the 3 for £5 was ganna be Sainsbury's best offer, glad I didn't buy any!

I've got a feeling if you cracked open a "Charlie Sheen Easter Special Egg". It would contain a substance not associated with a confectionery treat.

Did you buy one and get two free?

I think these are £1 at Asda and Tesco. So in effect you save 17p an egg. Another case of a supermarket over charging for the first product so you'll buy 2 more for nothing. In effect they are giving you 17p extra off per egg if you help them clear their stock,

Oh Morrisons are doing these half price at £1 too. Someone needs to tell them that Sainsbury charge £2.50 for one egg. I am amazed Morrisons are not advertising these at better than half price for £1. :oD

Tesco were doing the same offer a few weeks ago

heat added as very cheap if you like cadbury chocolate

i dunno why people complain about the eggs being overpriced...is it just me,but i dont remember them this cheap a few years back....

heat added for a good deal

I saw some eggs going cheap in Costcutters the other day.
A few moments later some chicks popped out.
I don't think they were chocolate.

They were a £1 an Egg last week at Sainsburys so this is only a slight improvement. They've never been 'full price'. They've doubled the price of Easter eggs this year so they can peddle these 'offers'. If you work out amount of choc per 100g you'd still get better value by buying a solid bar of chocolate. Most of the cost of these is in the packaging.

Great, Christmas sorted! HOT

I think you would struggle to get much cheaper than 47p per 100g (The price of a Flake medium egg per 100g)

Meh, chocolate eggs are a rip-off.

Here's a good way to DIY or IF (like me) you wanted to know how much chocolate is ACTUALLY in there.

1 - Buy an easter egg and eat the egg but keep the plastic mould that holds the egg.
2 - Buy a bar of your fav choccy (galaxy for me) and snap off one/two bits (YES that little) put into a microwaveable bowl and zap it for about 20 seconds (or until it starts to soften).
3 - Using a spatula or a brush (or the back of a spoon) apply the chocolate to the mould to about the thickness of the egg you've just munched. Now leave it to set in the fridge.
4 - Prise both sections of the choccy egg apart and join them using a bit of sugar glue.
5 - Done!

Once you do/see this you will never buy another rip-off chocolate egg again! And yes it only takes one/two pieces of a bar of chocolate! I bought a mahoosive bar of galaxy t'other day for £2. I could have made around 20 easter eggs out of it X)

Which chocolate do you use, that is way below 47p/100g?

Tried blowing eggs earlier today for the children to decorate and give as Easter gifts - boy was that not a good idea. I'm sure it was a lot easier when I used to watch it on Blue Peter years ago....

Anyway hot deal from me - wish I'd seen this earlier

we shipped these a couple of weeks back. watchout for offers at tesco we are shipping to them like crazy! watch this space.

Haha, I dont believe it X)

Do you actually get 100g worth of chocolate in the eggs or is that an average weight PRIOR to boxing? I know when we checked a Rolo egg, the actual chocolate was less than the advertised weight (they had included the weight of the mini rolo packs inside).

Making eggs DIY stylee is more fun anyway for the kids. IF you are desperate to keep costs low you could always use cooking chocolate! You can get 300g bars for under a quid

Perhaps they see buy 1 get 2 free and hit the heat button? Or just see the words easter eggs and think chocolate.

It would be interesting to see what percentage of the heat votes were done by women lusting for choccy!!

In comparison a 400gr bar of Cadbury dairy milk is £2 in Tesco/Asda.

Thats 50p per 100grams.

These eggs work out about the same value pending which one you choose. Some weigh 178 some 159 gr.

Overall at full price compared to an egg at full price you would buy the 400gr bar.

Its Easter and at Easter you buy chocolate eggs. (Still not sure why though - Must have missed that one in school). I don't know why everyone is quibbling over pence and chocolate per 100g. Its only a bit of fun.

Do you have the same philosophy about xmas? This deal isn't exactly a massive rip off is it! and there isn't that much cardboard. Perhaps you could use the cardboard in some way instead of throwing it away. Perhaps as coasters or as telephone note pads maybe. That would bring the cost per 100g right down.
