Megabus have launched a sightseeing tour of London, went on a trip myself the other day for £1 plus booking fee (50p) and for the price you can't go wrong.

The tour is 2 hours in length and is non stop with a guaranteed seat on the upper deck which is great. Our driver was really friendly and me and the kids had a great time - looks to only have started last week so not really busy just yet.

You can also do a double up on your Tesco Clubcard vouchers to then use to book on megabus - in case you had vouchers sitting idle there

Great price. Is it hop on hop off?

Hop on hop off on a non stop tour, that doesn't sound like a good idea.
Is this the same as Trotters ethnic tours?
Booked thank you op great first post one of the best

TIP If you are a tight-arse like myself and book separate £1 tickets to save money make sure you clear your cookies as they save them and the price will go up for the next single fare you try to book if you dont !

Just a further bit of info and extra tips that may be useful to those contemplating splashing out on this tour:
Jumped the mid afternoon bus (starting Tower Bridge) past Saturday. Tickets @ £3 p.p. so was quite prepared to bale out if foul weather, but as it turned out...glorious wall-to-wall at 27C. Even so, was expecting to meet an army of HotUKDealers but we were the only 2 passengers aboard entire bus...and must say we felt a bit VIP as we cruised past the rival tour buses that were jam packed to the rafters (nice busdriver Alan mentioned he was expecting 4 more).
As a jaded Londoner (past 19 years) my expectation for trip was not very high particularly when I checked off every last one of the points-of-interest (downloadable from site), but as this tour does not make any stops it is perhaps ideal for those who already have some knowledge of London and want to fill in the gaps or just use it as a taster to get a flavour (you can always follow up with an all frills hop-on-off tour later). The trip does move slowly through the usual congested traffic but is really relaxing and affords you a different perspective of familiar landmarks and architecture. You will also drive down very interesting streets you never knew existed, all the while tuned into the slightly cheesy pre-recorded commentary (via speakers). Nevertheless there are a few gems of info here... like the fact that Vietnam's most enigmatic leader, Ho Chi Minh worked in a nearby kitchen (before becoming President!)
Note that you will have to select 1 of 3 starting points for this tour (Tower Bridge, Waterloo & Hyde Park) and the bus will follow a non-stop circular route and drop you off at at the same selected start point roughly 2 hours later. One drawback of a deal of this nature is that the buses are few and far between. Our bus was 25 minutes late and during that time there were well over a hundred tour buses from rival companies that passed our stop... so be on time and then be patient. Your specific blue Megabus will have your Start Point indicated on the front banner. If not your designated bus do not fret if one such passes you by...it will not stop! (or make an ass of yourself like me who chased after and banged on the door of the wrong bus (that arrived at the right time at a nearby red light).
The buses are double deck with the upper deck being open top. Our upper deck was 100% open but it would seem some are partially covered. Check out weather by all means but strongly suggest taking a windbreaker regardless of predicted heat. We had cracking hot day but when surrounded by tall shading buildings - when wind picked up it became nippy.
If taking off from Tower Bridge/ Tower of London (tourist trap prices), good to know there is a reasonably priced Wetherspoons diagonally across the road from the stop (alongside neat little park). Also a Tesco Express about 500M further along main road. Make sure all in your party have made a loo visit prior to jumping on... as 2 hours non stop awaits.
Nice outing. Cracking deal. Great value. Enjoy

Wow! Just booked for our trip next week. What a deal. Thanks OP!
Brilliant spot, only £8 a head when booking way in advance too, so looks like a great opportunity for visitors to the capital. Heat added.

Great price. Is it hop on hop off?

No it's a non stop tour which is great to see all the sites in a short time (especially with kids in tow)
Awesome
Good luck with traffic.
Cheaper than going to maceedees to get out of rain.

I wonder if the large number of tickets available for £1 (+50p booking fee) will get them out of the recent ruling banning
their 'tickets available for £1 (+50p booking fee)' adverts imposed because not enough were available - which in reality
was probably because my family got then all !!!!
Interesting, will look at this next time i go to London, heat added!
Thanks, two tickets for £8.50 for next saturday, well happy.
Was there a commentary as well?

Was there a commentary as well?

Yep, it's a pre recorded commentary and very informative! For me that was one of the best parts as I've found with other tours the experience can vary wildly based on the enthusiasm of the tour leader!
great thanks....ideal for recovering after getting P****d at Hyde Park the night before !!

We started at Tower Hill (and it ends at the same location) but there are other places you can start/end (London Eye and Hyde Park I think are the other 2 choices)
Is this the same as Trotters ethnic tours?
I am an ex londoner, but at this price, I am tempted to book, just for the bus ride
I stay in London and been to these places many times, but at this price and the possibility of some sun in the weeks to come, its a damn good deal, booking for the family Thanks OP and welcome to HUKD deal posting - a heck of a first post this
Thanks OP! I love megabus in the States too. Can't beat a $1 fare from Vegas to LA or Orlando to Miami

£4 for 2 (£2 per person)

Could be the makings of the next speed film
Speed 3 the bus..again!
Is Keanu free
Fantastic. Been on various Europe tour buses and those are at least £15 if not more
Except there's a 50p booking charge each time, so it would work out at
£1.50 for 1 (£1.50 per person)
£4.50 for 2 (£2.25 per person)
£5.50 for 3 (£1.83 per person)
£8.50 for 4 (£2.12 per person)
£13.50 for 5 (£2.70 per person)

if those prices were standard (which they're not as far as I can see)
Hot deal! I've lived in London for 14 years so have seen everything up close, but still tempted to take this deal just for the price.

Looks like available for pretty much any date, even the popular summer months.
Great value. Heat all the way.

Good deal!
great deal!
You also get a discount for NUS Extra
London itself is cold (weather) what u gonna see ? Got weekly bus pass, I can see what I want
2hrs should be enough time to make it down the strand, round Trafalgar Square and half way up Charing Cross road in current traffic conditions
Are they open top?
Thanks mate. 3 quid p.p. not bad for coming Sat afternoon (weather seems to have improved by then too). Hope I can discover something new in my home town. Deserved heat
Thanks
