Just use a grout sponge so much easier and you can cut to exact size you want (edited)

One of these is much better and more cost effective in the long run too, switched from sponges to this and coverage, clean up and ease of use is much better - no more messy hands!:

That endurance gel does get everywhere as well. TBH, having that applicator sponge is not going to stop that. You're better off just using some gloves and a sponge.

I actually really like the sponge! I don't use the gel but instead Chemical Guys G6 and spray it onto the sponge first.
Did get a cheaper imitation one for £1 if I remember correctly but the sponge came away from the holder pretty quickly...this one has lasted a good number of years...I havn't even washed it

It’s good stuff the gel but I’ve found that the last two bottles I’ve had the bottles have split over the winter months and made a right mess

Had one of these but now use a sponge....same thing really but only 50p

Save your old kitchen sponges and bin them after.
