Amazing price for this machine, I bought one last week when the price was slightly higher and can highly recommend it.

Melitta is less well known in the UK but fares favourably in reviews in Germany where it originates compared to the more well known brands sold in the UK.

This machine is the gourmet model, not the bistro model which has previously been posted on HUKD.

This is currently selling on Amazon UK for £761

amazon.co.uk/Mel…met

Features 2 coffee bean containers and a fantastic milk frother with whisk. You can programme the coffee strength and temperature and adjust the coffee grind. The machine self cleans and has a removable brewing unit.

Use google chrome to translate Amazon.fr to English

Note you will need an inexpensive European 2 pin to 3 pin adapter for this to work in the UK but the voltage in France is the same as the UK so isn't a problem.

don't believe the voltage is the same. bought the bistro model 3 weeks ago ant I can highly recommend! not voting either way because of previously reason.

Thanks for posting, would you mind putting the Euro price in the OP, it's helpful so we know if the price has changed and can do our own calulations etc.

Where do you get your information from?

This is in German but confirms voltage as 230v

Can confirm mine works just fine!

OK, fill your boots.

there's quite a few reviews for this item on Amazon.de...seems they are either all over it or a sizeable chunk disgusted with it, mind you bean to cup machines always seems to get reviewed like that, with a lot of people expecting their new machine to function exaxtly the same as their old one, etc.

Yeah I read all of them before I purchased the machine. From what I can gather the negative reviews originate from the same 2 recurring complaints:

1) it takes 2 espresso shots before the switch between the different coffee bins is complete
2) you need to empty the water container regularly because it self cleans with an auto rinse when you turn the machine on and off.

Neither of these problems are a deal breaker for me, especially the second as I prefer the fact that it cleans itself before and after use.

Excellent machine. I got mine in the Black Friday deals last year for £350 but ended up paying a lot less as the price has dropped after I had paid for it and they automatically refunded the difference. Makes great coffee. Btw, buy the cleaning tabs from Amazon.de. Half the price for a box of 40 including shipping (and shipped from the same seller in Wolverhampton - lol)

Just realised this is the gourmet. Mine is the bistro but the comment about tabs is still valid. Stonking deal. If I didn't have mine, I would get one.

Not sure why you're having problems, I've just tried to order again and working fine for me. You can use your normal amazon.co.uk login details for Amazon.fr

Lot of money for a coffee maker !

Hi doeshen,
Thanks for posting such a great deal...heat given.

Can you remove the whisk to just steam the milk in a normal stainless steel jug?
All the videos on YouTube just show the steam & whisk being used with the milk in the cup.

Yes the whisk is removable if you just want steam only, it can also just pour hot water from this too. Very easy to clean the whisk, just rotate out and run under a tap

Great deal for coffee lovers. Unfortunately I already have one but heat added!!

Thanks for your reply. Sorry to be a pain but is it just the little whisk bit that can be removed, leaving the full steam wand?
Hope that makes sense

The wand has two removable parts, the bottom whisk can be removed to leave a steam wand or the whole wand can be removed.

If you open up the link to the English manual I posted in the first comment, look at page 2, there is a picture (image C and D) of how the wand can be disassembled. Hope that makes it a little clearer

you sure you are buying from amazon and not an amazon seller?

Amazon sellers won't ship to uk probably, but amazon itself will.

Perfect! Thanks

Wouldn't bother, sourcing new filters, seals, brewing units and cleaning kits is going to prove frustrating and costly.

Ps if you want a traditional wand have a look at the 'solo and milk' or 'solo and perfect milk' models, very similar but smaller footprint and cheaper

Not as smart looking but will make just as good coffee:
amazon.co.uk/DeL…5E/

Also on 4 for 3 with loads of other things like vax, neato, etc.

These were what I bought -
amazon.de/gp/…s00
from SparesPlus who are UK based. They are about £4 for 4 on amazon.uk, but about £24 for 40 inc free shipping from amazon.de. (and when I got them they were about £20)

You can pay with your normal stored cards on Amazon. I think it may be cheaper to pay in euros, thats what I did but not sure. I don't think it makes a big difference though.
