Worth putting Timex in the title given it's a known brand.

I like the style of this and Timex generally, having said that, the bezel is a bit busy for my taste. Hukd so close to costing me more money... Again...
Was quite tempted but one review suggests that is difficult to find a replacement strap due to the design. Haven’t voted either way.

Had watches for years , and never needed a replacement strap ...based on a single review your temptation has gone ....sometimes it’s better to say nothing at all ...and yes this is one too

Surely the point of this site is for people to grab a bargain, but also to help people make an informed choice. I recently posted a link to a different watch and someone pointed out they had the same model, but the glass scratched easily. Rather than mocking their comment I simply thanked them for the information.
I think you’re lack of a need to replace a watch strap makes you different to most. For those that might wear the watch everyday - the ability to replace the strap is a pretty basic requirement.
I do agree with you on one point though ... there are times where you should say nothing at all...

I just replaced my old Timex with a nice suede leather strap offa EBay. Official Timex straps near enough cost the price of buying the whole watch as new

I have worn a watch virtually daily for over 40 years - also the earlier version of this, and never required a strap and I work on the shop floor so they do get a hard life- informed choice is not one review - how often to straps require replacing as a basic requirement? - sanctimonious response expected !
Why is 100m no good for diving? I think you be a bit specialised if you went deeper.

Actually. I think if you look up ‘sanctimonious’ you’ll realise the only comment in this chain that was is yours. I, like most watch wearers, replace watch straps due to both wear and to change the look of the watch. Ease of finding one that will fit the watch is an important factor for most people.

I think it's the action of entering the water too quick. As in diving off a board, not actual diving, does that make sense?
Looks ok for old tech.
Regarding the strap being the way it is, some people prefer to change straps due to style/function preferences, so it isn't always about replacing a strap because it's worn. In my case, I've got a watch that came with a bracelet but I don't like it so I wear that particular watch with a NATO strap.

As far as the strap on the watch in this thread goes, the specifications state the band width is 16mm, which I presume is the lug width. If that's the case, I can see that being an issue from an aesthetic and stability point of view if one were to swap the strap for a 16mm strap with the watch case having a 45mm diameter.

I haven't seen the watch in real life so it might well be fine to wear a 16mm strap on a 45mm watch. But it's worth mentioning all the same. Fwiw, I have't voted either way as 45mm case is simply too large for my wrist, but thanks OP for posting the deal in the first place

Good point. A watch with a proprietary strap or anything more than a standard fitting is a concern, especially when it’s a leather strap. I have a Seiko Kinetic with a proprietary Stainless strap that I’d like to put on a Leather Strap to change it up, but I have struggled to find a suitable strap.

Realistically, a leather watch strap worn daily is going to struggle to last even two years. Inevitably the leather falls victim to moisture, sweat, grime, Etc. Even wiping down and maintaining as best you can will not have much effect. Lastly, aesthetics aside, there is something particularly rank about the smell of a sweaty leather watch strap that has been worn for two years steady.

Watches are tested with atmospheric pressure devices, not sent to the depths. Check it out online, but the basics are roughly like this: 3atm (so 30 metres) okay with splashes, 5atm swimming, 10atm snorkelling, 20atm scuba, 30atm+ suitable potentially for commercial diving.
Love the brand; I have this one. Terrible. Bad image for the great brand.
I genuinely think this is hideous
Got loads of these watches. Standard size strap if I remember rightly. Lovely watches
Purchased mine for £20 when I was at uni, 22 years ago, great funky durable watch and it’s still lying around somewhere.

You may want to go and look at a few of them and check as apart from there being no standard size for watch straps, these straps have a recessed section making the strap 16mm at the pin and 24mm at the lug OD. LINK
