It's just a box. It doesn't use any fuel.

Of course it does it creates drag
£119?
Use the code capa.
Just been doing a fuel test on my 320lt menabo box which I bought a couple of weeks ago.. if the fuel computer on my Hyundai Tucson is to be believed it's only made 1mile per gallon difference. I was getting a consistent 47mpg before and now running at 46. so not quite the misery and expense others may have you believe..

Whoosh!

(Both the extra noise the drag entails and their sarcasm going over your head, me thinks )

Depends whether you need the extra load carrying capacity or not. Just remove it when you don't need it - mine will be coming off after our camping trip, but going back on again for visit to family at Christmas.

capa code not working?

Pmsl
Code worked fine.

Been looking for one of these for a while, thanks....
Too big for my needs! I wanted a 250l version. Would've snapped one up for this price! Not worried about drag factor to much, as only be fitted for major trips.
I'll be well impressed if you can get the capa code to work though! oO

Not convinced this is a hot price for a 320 litre roof box - seems to be about the going rate:

roofbox.co.uk/scr…wcB

1roofbox.co.uk/roo…ack

However I am sure someone will correct me, as I don't know much about them! (What I do know is i need a bigger one, doh!)

It wasn't very well said though, since OP specifically said consumption with the box on.
Bigger is better... Ours is 580l and it could do with being bigger. We only just get 3 large hard suitcases in it. 320 maybe get one large hard case and a few soft bags in it.
Works fine with 3 small children and a jack russel. Worth the price just for the quiet journey.
you can try the box on your car here mr-box.com/de/…/c4

Sounds like you're in danger of exceeding the weight limit for your roof. Not to mention your car may become quite unstable with all that weight up there. I'll stick to 320 litres thanks. :-)

Exactly. I only use mine when I use it which is 2/3 times per year. Comes in handy with a full family trip.

Yes 320l is small compared to 580, I could only fit few bags and it's quite low but has done the job so far for me.
Sorry guys just realised topcash 3.71% back too. Only now ordering mine !
Not sure if this opens on both sides - it looks as if it may not. Having bought one that didn't, I'd strongly recommend getting one that does. It's not just about ease of access (especially when driving on mainland Europe on the right-hand side), but ease of fitting too.

Still, a good spot from the OP and a decent price nonetheless.

Really? Jesus Christ pal
As speed increases so does you drag. So if you are pootling about at 60mph you'll not notice too much difference but the faster you go, the more this will effect MPG.

Eg my boring diesel A3 will do about 50mpg at (cough) 80 mph. But Less than 40 with the roof rack on.

Can somebody with some roof box experience help me out. I have a 2011 ford grand c-max - currently no roof bars. I've tried looking into roof boxes but I'm very confused about whether or not my car will take one - I'm sure I read somewhere that the fixing points for the roof bars are a factory fitted option so if my car doesn't already have them then a roof box is a neddy no-no. Having said that, I am by no means certain and could easily have misread or misunderstood.

Any advice appreciated
do i need to buy the additional roof bars

I don't think the fixing points are an option, I think Ford offer factory fit bars as an option, like the ones here ebay.co.uk/itm…386
If you go to roofbox.co.uk (or similar sites) and select your model you should see what you need. They normally come in 2 or 3 parts.
This 3 part Thule one should work for you....

You can of course buy cheaper brands, but I've never had a problem with Thule.

Don't know about your car specifically, but my Mazda has little plastic tabs in the
roof gutters. Flip them out and the fixing points for bolts for roof bars are exposed. I have Mount Blanc bars and a slightly older Halford roof box now. Not the most elegant solution but only use it about once or twice a year. Can't imagine there's no provision for roof bars (and hence a box) on a popular car like a c max.
The carbon fibre effect should in fact make any car more aerodynamic and give it more bhp.
So basically eurocarparts has another (30%) sale but you want heat....anyone done the battery deal or oil?
