Would these be good for hiking around Brecon or somewhere like that?
Thanks. Used the good on another pair of shoes.
Hot! Amazon reviews suggest sizing up by at least a half as a heads up

They would be really good for hiking. I have the "adidas Men's Terrex AX2R Mid Gtx" (ankle boot / hi-top version) and they are great in the cold and wet, your feet stay warm and dry. Sometimes I wear them when biking and once I was in torrential rain. Literally the only part of my body that was dry when I got home was my feet, only the tops of my socks were wet where the rain had been pouring down my legs, so I can vouch for the Gore-Tex and insulation doing its job at protecting from British weather, even in winter.

I'm usually a size 8, 8.5. or 9, and the 9 fit me best (I tried 8.5, 9 and 9.5 on). I vaguely remember reviews saying you might need a half size bigger than usual. That might be right, so something to bear in mind if you're ordering online (order them all and return the wrong-uns)
If I didn't have a pair of Berghaus Explorer GTX for Christmas I'd be buying these. Hot
I’ve bought Terrex trainers from Wiggle (a different pair to these) and had no issues to report. Great trainers. Best price.
Got these myself in all black a few months ago. Really comfy shoe once broken in. Use them daily for dog walks, very grippy and water proof. Would recommend.

I have all black and they are great. Much better than the north face shoes they replaced, and I liked the north face, but these are much more durable than the north face. If these were not blue I would buy s second pair.
These are extremely comfy. I wear them a lot. Not even slightly waterproof. Airy,
I bought them from footasylum last night. Wasn't keen on this colour so paid 55 for another colour.

Not waterproof? Even thought they're advertised as waterproof?
Looking for some good quality walking shoes for women. Previous average trainers (Adidas ones) last a few months max, would these be much better? No running but multiple miles of walking a week

adidas Women's Terrex AX2R Shoes use code for discount good luck, I am off to sleep
These are the GTX version of these shoes so they have a goretex coating. They most certainly will be waterproof.
I paid £55 for the mids (£65 on eBay from Sportshoes, or £60 + £4.90 delivery from their website (Their website has 10% student discount, but I had 15% eBay discount)).

The mids are amazing shoes, and I'd imagine the shoes are as good. Go 1/2 a size up, they are a bit tight, although I was trying mine on with much thicker socks as I wear thicker socks when hiking.

Gore-Tex is waterproof - Maybe OP has the non GTX version? Although gore-tex is nowhere near as good as having a real leather boot in terms of waterproofness, gore-tex is breathable so there are advantages and disadvantages.

I'd wait for the RTX version to go on sale, may struggle with the new terrains
Had these before, ok for a couple of months walking the dog then the sole around the edge of the uppers started to come away losing the waterproof integso sent them back to Adidas for a refund..
This is a good deal because you save £7????

I had a pair of non gortex 100% leather boots many moons ago for hiking, and they were superb and never let a drop of water in. They do need a bit more love, applying a wax regularly as I recall, but for all our synthetic fancy pants gortex shoes and boots, a quality fully leather boot still can't be beat, most of the time at least; perhaps not when it's roasty toasty out.
