popped instore today (Chelmsford) to look through their upto 70% off sale, and noticed these whilst browsing for my boyfriend. Can't go wrong for a pound. Maybe worth checking your local?

This literally makes no sense.

Can't go wrong for a pound!

looks like it is not worth more than A pound anyway

He won't be your boyfriend for long if you keep buying him £1 shoes.

(Joking, obviously - excellent value and heat added.)

Haha. Obviously a pair of brand new shoes are worth a quid. Normally I would say, you can't grumble for a pound, but clearly some people just like a moan. Don't like them, don't vote! Why even waste seconds of your precious time clicking on a deal you're clearly not interested in?!

he doesn't need to know the price. ;-)

So lucky!

Anyone got a list of these still open ? the gloucester branch is already closed.

I'd pay a pound just so I could throw them in the bin. Save some poor bloke having to wear them. I am sure your boyfriend will be pleased... I think he may know you only spent a pound anyway without you telling him. ;-)

A) he doesn't HAVE to wear them. B) You clearly don't have a girlfriend. C) stop trolling. No cares about your opinion. Weirdo

heat added, never mind the negatives clearly nothing better to do with their time

To everyone slagging my comment, (comment 2) It is my comment , It's how I feel about the deal. Get a life!

Some people assume the community will only put positive comments on deals. What's the point in that? The whole idea of the comments section is to weigh up the pro's and cons, the good and the bad. If people have a negative comment I seriously doubt it will prevent people checking out other deals, it will simply make them think a bit more about this one.

Saying that only positive comments should be posted is basically suggesting the comments sections should be removed from all deals. After all, the only thing left would be positive comments, and that can be gauged from the heat.

lol. Just buy some slippers. Search 'slippers' on hukd. That may be a better use of your time. Take note of your own comment 'get a life' you're the one commenting on a deal you clearly have no interest in. Little bit hypocritical.

I have no objection to people posting con's as well as pro's. I always check reviews before buying something online. I look out for the cons. But these people have had the product in their physical possession. It's been tried and tested and therefore an opinion and a pro or a con can be formed. To comment with something like 'you'd have to pay me to wear them' is unnecessary, and there to simply try and pick an arguement. People have eyes. They can see for themselves in the picture whether they like them or not, so stupid comments like that are a bit irrelevant really. When I posted this, I didn't assume anything. I posted this deal as that's just what it is, a deal.

So people can post cons if they have tried the item, but pro's if they haven't?

Original Poster

well a brand new pair of shoes for a quid is quite clearly a pro. No one can argue that, no matter how sarcastic their negative comments are. You don't need to be in possession of them to know this. And as there is proof by way of photographed receipt, there is grounds for a positive comment

Original Poster

also, I did say "a PRO or a CON can be formed"

mumtozm, don't mistake my questioning for arguments. This is a great deal. A pair of trainers for £1 from a (previously) reputable brand is fantastic value for money. I'm just trying to see what people expect with regards to feedback on them.

If you waited for anyone to buy them before posting a comment (productive or not) then it would be a pretty barren comments board. Some people see a comment like "I'd buy 6 pairs of these to wear as a necklace" and be amused, whereas a negative comment is deemed criticism and a direct attack on the deal poster. (Yes i know my example sucks)

So your deal is great. I didn't buy them but added heat for this fact, but not having bought them shouldn't dissuade people from coming on and telling us they did/didn't like the deal, regardless of the way in which they do it.

That's all I have to say really. Take it as you will. Certainly don't let a few criticizing comments put you off posting more

Actually mumtozm I have seen the shoes and that is why I commented.

links not working now!

Negative and sarcastic comments are what make this site. Don't be so negative about negativity! Take it as constructive critisism.

A. Its a good job.
B. If it was 'clear', you'd be correct. Your judgement on people is as bad as your taste in mens shoes.
C. 'Clearly', YOU care.

My opinion is just valid as yours and I am not the one name calling.

The shoes are still $***.
