good find op, heat added

thank you

Nice one- thanks

I bought one of these so called "Leather" belts, when they were marketed around Father's day.
Just to be clear, the cows that this leather is flayed from are lined internally with Polyurethane!
Mine has already started to laminate.

I'd rather spend my hard earned on something that was genuine leather.

Good price. Hot

Cheers OP...8)

I need a really strong real leather belt with proper stitched layers that won't fall apart after five minutes. Is this it?

The best belt I have ever owned was one bought off a Majorcan flea market cheap 15 years ago, but it was ultra quality real leather hand stitched that lasted 15 years of serious abuse.

Now everything is laminated Chinese crap that rips and collapses after about 3 months. Even if it's a 30 quid 'genuine' belt it's all the same crap it seems.

Whenever I hear the word premium, I get a bit sceptical.

I'll go have a look at one, but I'm not going to be expecting muxh!

Have a look at Heistercamp. I had the same issue with cheap belts but the one from them is solid leather of good quality. I got a non-stitched belt from them but the stitching looks to be substantial too.

I share you frustration and your desire for "Quality" which seems to be viewed as somewhat "quaint" in this ever so green ...but disposable world we inhabit!

This seems fine thanks, I needed recommendations as I have seen many like this dubious about their quality too I have been burned too much. I don't have much problem even paying £40 for a belt, as long as it's THE belt and lasts another 10-15 years of punishment- that's then a total bargain IMO.

My experience leads me to recommend Belt Designs on Amazon (proper leather, well made) and avoid Hugo Boss (buckle silvering came off after a few months revealing bronze color beneath).

Any examples please. Links from Amazon. thanks

This is the one I have but they have others without the prominent stitching:

I been looking for a belt as well

I bought all of mine from 99p shop and they last ages.

Another cheap rubbish Aldi product trying to be passed of as premium.

Although for Aldi this probably is premium in their eyes. Cold

I've been wearing a Ben Sherman belt pretty much daily for the last 15 years or so. Cost me about 20 quid - the metal retainer buckle wore through a year or two ago but the leather itself is still going strong. I finally replaced it a month or so ago when I found a small leatherworking shop in Cornwall that cut and made the belt in front of you, but more because I fancied a new belt than because it needed replacing.

Serious abuse? What you doing, dishing out beats with it? It's only to hold your pants up!

On a serious note though, I agree, leather advertised as genuine these days isn't and just doesn't last, even when its a top brand. I have a Ben Sherman one which I bought 15 years ago and its still going strong. Bought a diesel one a few weeks ago and sent it back as quality was horrendous.

As the saying goes, they don't make them like they used to.

Yes but it is only a fiver. Will be getting one as my current belt has buckle issues, and I'm losing weight so tired of adding extra notches.

Tried some on in Sainsbury's, couldn't get the medium round my waist, but the large was too big, so the waist sizes will help.

I bought one around Fathers day too as I had bought 2 when previously on offer that were Leather. I have to agree the last one was laminated & not as good as the older ones.
Shame that as Aldi has become popular the quality has dropped in my opinion.

Thanks op. Need some new ones

Bought one a few months ago. Within a short while the plating started to come off the buckle. Then the leather started de-laminating. Worst of all though was the fact that it was never comfortable - it didn't shape itself to the body like a decent leather belt would but cut in (and looked bad). Apart from that..........

This is one of those bargains that turned out to be a total waste of money.

I thought all the Aldi-haters had died out - I guess a few relics are still shuffling around Tesco.

A belter of a deal!

Thanks for the info about the quality of these belts. Won't be buying.

I notice that although these belts are absolute rubbish (according to several who've bought them in the past) the deal still goes over 400%. The Flamedeer thing makes a nonsense of this site for several weeks every year.

52 actually! The relevance of the voting disappeared a long time ago.

Actually I use the belt from 99p every day doing my job, walking for miles, and they are good belts and I swear by them, you can pay lots and get crap.
