Geez. oO You can't buy new with tags at that price from charity shops. Not that I buy 2nd hand clothes from charity shops. That price is insane.

What's wrong with people.. Just think of the suffering that £1 shirt has caused to manufacture when you're wearing it. Maybe you should just get your own child slave.

Educate yourself about this company and the conditions people are working in just so you can buy that crap shirt

Good idea, I'm all for this, but I'm not entirely sure I'd get away with it, shame really as my chimney needs sweeping, and am also looking into the possibility of reopening an old coal mine that's on some land that I own.

Iv child slave I bought it at latest car boot sale but I wanted a white one (

Cold. I'm with Penfold here, despicable company.

Hot for the price and good quality shirts they are. Don't know how they are made, never been to one of the factories. But heard they these are made along side many high street brands.

I usually avoid primark, is there a way of shopping more ethically on a budget as it's something I'd really like to do?
Thanks

Never heard anyone say "good quality" and "Primark" in the same sentence. Lol

Cost of a shirt does not mean cheap labour, as other have mentioned a £30 shirt is probably made in the same factories, it just means the headline company makes more profit.

Anyone who has ever been dragged around Primark can clearly see there is something not quite right.....

Great price and they are great shirts... Don't get hung up on who makes them because the reality is most manufacturers are in China... RL just charge £60 for a 2p horse...

Its a shirt that they normally sell for £8. All clothes retailers will sell of goods on or below cost at certain points to clear out old stock. So that does not actually make this a £1 shirt.
There are companies round the world making items for pennies and selling them for much more than Primark is here. Unless we can turn the clothing industry into a communist enterprise, I can't see the wages, conditions and quality levelling out any time soon.

most British companies use the same factories actually even m and s, nike etc so no different to the others!

Not voted either way, but I would be apprehensive about singling out Primark for such manufacturing processes, in all likelihood your other brands are already doing the same.....but getting much healthier profits!

I make my own clothes from cotton I picked myself.

its getting very political on here, i thought this site was for advertising hot deals, and this clearly is!!!!

Im thinking that if i DONT buy the shirt, then the little suffering child would be out of a job due to lack of demand and couldn't support their single mother and 12 siblings. How selfish are you?

This is a great deal. Hotter than a Bangladesh sweat factory.

Have some heat

why don't you look at ethical primark, and also do some research to find out that they are one of the leaders in ethical production of clothes. You are also deluded if you think price in any way relates to how ethical the clothes are made.

read up on the company before slating them, wow some people , great price for anyone that wants a shirt

I can confirm that primark clothes are (or at least were 5 years ago) manufactured in the exact same factories, by the exact same people as topman/topshop....surely you should be boycotting the company that is selling the same quality shirts for £25?!

most brands are made by cheap labour and appalling conditions somewhere or other, iPhone anyone?

For God's sake, you're supposed to vote hot or cold on the item based on it's price, quality, value for money and whether you see it as a deal based on those factors. If you're voting cold because you think Primark is unethical then start a discussion in misc and don't vote it down. Regardless of how the company runs or treats their staff this is a good deal for someone who can't afford a shirt for more money, like unemployed people seeking work and attending interviews, students, low income families/parent etc... Hell, some kind soul might even buy a lot of these to give to charity, Salvation Army etc...

People aren't voting with their financial head on, they're voting with their moral head on. It defeats the object of voting a deal as hot ro not.

I thought it was Bangladesh. And made in pretty horrific conditions. People get into uproar over cheap eggs (I don't) but don't bat an eyelid when humans working in worse conditions. Bizarre.

Went into this Primark yesterday to take a look - couldn't find anything other than XS and S - it's been a long time since I got into anything with an S in it.... But I can't fault the Primark shirts (ethics aside) even at £8 - very long lasting.

To be honest, if you go far enough into any companies supply chain you'll find something unethical.

Doesn't matter if you purchase a £1 shirt from Primark or a £100 pair of Nike trainers the people making it still getting paid the same

you will need to pay me more than a pound to wear shirts from primark

good deal though if you are on the budget

Yes they are. However I have found them priced at £3 not £1

Why? I'd wear clothes from anywhere if they looked fine and I can't see how a shirt which is made in the same way and with similar materials to a Topman or Burton shirt is going to be so bad.

I don't know why Primark are singled out for the slave labour tag, I watched a documentary a while back called Blood, Sweat and T-Shirts which clearly showed much more expensive brands using the same factories - surely that proves that most companies are unethical, just that some overcharge you for the privilege?

Anyway... Ethics aside its a hot deal. I'd hate it if every cheap fashion post had a slice of politics in it just like I don't care to see rants about the NHS in cheap alcohol deals or unhealthy food deals.

You are so deluded, if Primark paid ten times the amount the workers would still be paid peanuts, the factory owner would just be richer. As someone else has said, you would most likely be able to find issues in EVERY supply chain. Unless you live in a mudhut and live off the land (in which case I apologise), posts like yours are just hypocritical

Because a lot of people on here are 10p millionaires who log on to save money but deride others for doing the same!! Good deal by the way OP
