I love these.... an essential for homemade Christmas stuffing

ah, that 'essential item for Christmas dinner' The one that I have never had with Christmas dinner at any location in over 40 years.

How do these compare to buying chestnuts and doing it that way, as my mother has always done that and it tastes amazing, but obviously a lot more time consuming.

Vegans & vegetarians would never ever be invited to my grimble dinners

2) **** off

For the last few years I've bought bags of these at Tesco's for a pound each around Christmas for snacking cold. Not tried them hot but maybe I will this time using microwave on a quick burst, roasting in oven might dry them out.

These never taste the same to me as roasted chestnuts but I might try your idea of roasting them. Thanks.

Think those are water chestnuts from the Chinese,,, sorry if I'm mistaken

Can you freeze these and what aisle are they on in Tesco? I was going to chop them and fry them with part cooked sprouts and smoked bacon bits for Christmas dinner.
