Advertises gigabit speeds. Yet reviews barely get 200meg.

    Avoid!

Although I would always be wary of reviews of this type of product anyway, way too much environmental differences to make a good guess.

My rather pricey TP Link ones did several hundred mb passthrough for example but at a friends barely got over 250.

Could still be garbage of course, but just know YMMV with these anyway.

I ordered these because my mixed pair of 500mbs homeplugs was cutting out from time to time, and these seemed the best deal for gigabit ones, but having read the comments here, I suspect that the problem is not the homeplugs but interference from the smart meter, so I cancelled and went for THIS instead:

Again, this is a replacement for an older but slower item. The bottleneck will as always be the broadband connection, but I don't want anything slower in the chain.

Edit- The Devolo WiFi extender arrived, took moments to install, and has improved my broadband speed from 60Mbs to 90Mbs, so the old adapters do seem to have been the slow part of the chain. (edited)

Bought a couple of weeks ago, perfect for my needs , not done a speed check but nil buffering on a 4k feed (edited)

These are recommended as a 'last case solution' where you can't use wires or WiFi. You need to check that they won't interfere with any smart meter too. I didn't even know that was a thing until it was included in a 'checklist' for smart meter problems.

Power line adaptors are absolutely better than wifi for the majority of use cases. Use MIMO spec ones though (TP Link do them).
