Well, it is proper peanut butter not the processed American junk.
So just peanuts and a bit of salt. No sugar. No palm oil or other solid fat.
And shock horror like any 100% peanut butter, 100% almond butter, 100% sesame seeds tahini, etc., after purchase the oil needs stirring back in.
Meridian is the best, next is the Aldi one in my opinion.

The bitter taste comes from roasting the peanuts in their skins.
