Saw this in the Tesco Extra in Dudley earlier and seemed like a great price for 1kg of Meridian. Girlfriend tells me it's excellent!

Amazing price... If you can find it.

and now I want some peanut butter on toast.... but I have none

Is it national anyone?

£3.99 in my local Extra. Still a good price at that.

I have only seen these tubs in the stores that that the nutrition centres.

this deal was in swindon last week. so maybe worth the trip to your nearest.

Proper Peanut butter!

Ingredients: Peanuts

No other junk
I normally buy the Kirkland stuff from costco but this price beats it hands down, I hope mine has it

Cold not Sun Pat

I've bought 1KG before, eventually it becomes a lardy bland mess, as the oil has separated and you have to mix it in. I don't think it actually tastes that great either.

Well to be fair it is clearly written in the package that it might separate. It does require a bit of elbow grease when you open it, particularly if it has been stored for a long time but once you mix everything properly it takes a long time to separate again. We usually transfer them to small jam glasses and just refill as necessary instead of using directly from the large tub. I can also recommend the almond butter... more expensive but tastes amazing.

I'll try the almond butter, it's something I've never tried. I tried Tahini and really don't like it at all.

Ignorance is bliss.

It's supposed to separate. The "normal" peanut butters have carp in them to keep it all "looking nice".

I buy the 280g jars and I keep it upside down to circumvent the separation... this may help with the 1kg tubs?

Are you sure? Sounds fishy to me.

Your girlfriend is right op, this is excellent, and she knows nuts!!!!!

Says the Sun-Pat Fan.
Not so much 'supposed to', as 'inevitably will'
The trick is to stir regularly, or eat it fast.
Or transfer to small jars as ^^above^^

If you don't like the taste, move on, it's not for you. But the difference between "90-95% peanuts plus palm oil etc", and "100% peanuts" is a serious one; one that Sun-Pat could never imagine in 1,000,000 years.

HOT if you can get it; HOT for the lucky b******s who can, even if you can't.

come on people, just make your own.

I've tried it, didn't like it. Tastes very bland.
I can buy a bag of peanuts, stick them in the food processor until the oil is released and I'll get the same result. It might be healthier with absolutely nothing else added but a bit of oil and salt gives peanut butter a better taste. I've tried making my own peanut/almond/cashew nuts butter, by the way.

I much preferred Whole Earth Organic Smooth Peanut Butter with no sugar added.

I bought a few tubs of this thought it would be nice but tasted horrible without any salt/sugar and binned them.

So what on earth are you doing in this thread? Is your life that empty?

I eat this brand daily - I love it, as others say though, you really have to stir it. As for salt, if you like, just sprinkle a little on. I don't like other brands, as they add oil and its completely unnecessary and I don't like the idea of eating too much oil, it's not good for our digestive system. This is better.

I clicked on the deal because I've tried this product and thought I'd see what people were saying about it in the comments. I don't have to justify my comment to you anyway. I didn't vote cold in any case if you want to know. I'm indifferent. I personally didn't like it, but if someone likes this product then good for them. One would think you personally make this peanut butter the way you got offended.

I personally would rather a mix of opinions than just positives. If the taste isn't for everyone then that's good to know.

Is this a national deal . a misprice or a store specific deal . thank you

Its Tesco. That's all you need to know

Bought 2 tubs of this on the amazon deal for about £7.50 ish . Not the best to be honest , and my three kids didn't like it either , so will probably end up binning it which is a shame . Whatever the views on sunpat is , I and my family would prefer it over this. As someone said - its extremely bland even if it is healthier , wouldn't buy again for sure.

We do make our own but this is for the "lower quality" output in our lives, namely the banana brownie things which need a whole lot of peanut butter!

She LOLed uncontrollably at that. A little worrying.

No palm oil at all. Very few peanut butters can claim that.

Ive got one in my basket on Ocado for £5 something. May have to change that.

organic at amazon £4.49 as an add on item.

Why are you quoting me? Sun pat fan? You numpty. Try reading the thread again and see which side I was on.
I'll just wait here and eat what's left of the triple pack of Meridian Almond butter that Amazon sold me.

Tbh as far as taste gos I was a bit put off the first few times, now my tongue has gotten used to these nuts there my favourite

Im not quoting tommyjoey gf neither, this is my own opinion X)

Your girlfriend must be excellent if she likes peanut butter!

Good price. I bought it for £5.
It's a little bland but you get used to it (I'm eating it for the nuts and protein, not the salt or oil!) and then I found I preferred
it to the less healthy ones.

One day I should probably try making my own but
for now, this is a good deal if I can find it.
Towards the very bottom of the tub, it gets harder to scoop it
but oh well....1kg is quite a lot.

Now Now! Peanuts not walnuts !

this is my favourite... needs a good stir at first, but then to lessen the seperating, store in on its lid (ie upside down)
If you like it sweeter, add a banana and grill the sandwich - healthy Elvis! lol
