Next cheapest is amazon at a pound more, then eBay for £3 more. I have not seen this at under thirty for some time.
How long does blade last ?? Are they expensive ??
Cheaper here, and a brilliant company shaving.ie/pro…tml
Feather blades are the best, and are £4 for 10. I get 3 sharp shaves per blade, but they'll cut well beyond that
shaving.ie says "Shipping to the United Kingdom and Europe starts from only €3.50 depending on weight." I tried checking out and it estimated £6 for postage to the UK...
Derby blades are approx. £8 for 100 on Amazon and give a fantastic shave and a long life per blade.
Im used to a gillette fusion is this a better shave how many blades to you get with the razor ?? Thankyou for your help

Great to see a DE post! However I did a check on the prices for this razor that I posted in the HotUKdeals DE shaving thread here the other day and it is nowhere near the best price:

The Merkur 34C from NkdMan is £29.95 with free P&P. however, on Shaving Shack at this link here this is £29.99 with 10% discount code (SHG10 for orders over £35 - or sign up to their newsletter and you get a 10% code (I think has no minimum spend)) it's £26.99, then £24.83 with 8% TopCashBack, you also get nearly £2 off your next order with their loyalty Shave Points and a set of 10 Feather blades worth £4 that cancel out the delivery charges if that's all you spend; add on the extra (over £40 including the discount) to make the free delivery and it's even more of a no brainer!

Loughboro Guy - it's much much much better, satisfying and cheaper. Take a look at the HotUKDeals DE Shaving thread I listed above on comments/advice for how to use these razors and suggestions for kit to get.

I use these blades myslef as I have a hard beard. (Like a Chuck Norris beard) Can't use fusion or the rest as they are good for 2 goes and that's it! Bit pricey for the razor itself but save a fortune on blades.
Ah yes, postage :o(

I have a Mercur 34c I agree that the Derby blades are great, the Feather brand are too sharp, (if you understand me?), and don't last as long.
Anyone have experience with this merkur and the EJ de89bl? Aside from weight and overal dimensions is the default blade angle the same ?

Cheers for link to thread.
Any good offers for blades selection pack? New users to de shaving may benefit from a multipack of differing brands.
there used to razors where you could alter the angle of attack on the blade( 9 clicks I believe) .. my grandpa had one ..wondering if they still exist? thanks
Likewise Hertz - Thanks for the link to the thread. I've been on HUKD for years but never gone in to non-deal threads but this is really useful.

Thanks too to the OP. I've taken the plunge. Will make sure my first try isn't on the morning of any important meetings though!

I only started fairly recently with the de shaving , my kids loved it when I got cuts and are quite disappointed that I can do it with no problems now! I guess it took me a good couple of weeks to get on top of it, though even now I can still nick myself.

Thanks for that link too.
Agree with Whammerhead - I use the Edwin Jagger DE and it is great, a few quid less. It was my first foray into a DE safety and I'd never look back... The shave is so much better than a Gillette cartridge and much, much better value - give it a go, you won't look back!
ive been using a superdrug safety razor for over a year - cost me about a fiver and i honestly cant see how you can imrove on the quality of that shave. cold.

How much are the blades for the superdrug razor ? I'm sick of being ripped off for Gillette fusion blades ??

The link given above (click here to go directly) looks like it has a good selection of sample packs. My guess is that the pack, depending on how many blades, will last you at least 6 months, maybe up to a year - for under a tenner. Plus you get to try a selection of blades and find which you prefer. Then Amazon is your friend as there are often great deals for blades in bulk.

I assume that the superdrug razor is the standard size.

This is probably the correct price for this razorbut look around for discount codes / free gifts etc on other shaving sites
