Wait for the yearly sales. This isn't a good price. When you buy your pass you get vouchers for bring a friend for £10 anyway. I payed £130 for my premium passes for my family. Also if you're not bothered about going in peak times buy 1 premium Pass and 3 standard passes that way you still get the free car parking and it is much cheaper. Also don't forget you can now pay monthly for them interest free.

Why would they not honour people that currently have a merlin pass, that would be bad business practice.

This is even better than corporate rates which are 181 per person, but 151 per person if you buy 3.

Any ideas when the next lot of sales may be? Thanks for the advice! Is it usually the same price for the adult and the child tickets? Thanks again

Yes it's same price for adults and kids. The sales are usually summer and new year
Monthly membership's currently the cheapest 'normal' way to get premium membership. It works out at £178.87 for the year, which still makes it cheaper than this unless you use the TENOFF code.
Jees, these have gone up a lot!

I remember getting 3 x Merlin premium annual passes for £357 in 2016 and then got around £30 cashback by purchasing via Sealife Centre (currently 8% Quidco), so around £110 each.

Not sure you can still purchase that way, but may be worth a try.

That was on the NY sale though and although it was over 3 years ago, this is a huge difference.

But if you do want them now, this may be the best price.

There are black out periods on the standard passes

Hence why I said if you're not bothered about going in peak times.

Just checked Quidco as 8% sounds good but the terms say that it doesn’t apply to annual pass sales
I must have got lucky then.

It has been over three years, so maybe tightened up.

Never mind, it was worth a try and maybe even try now anyway as you've nowt to lose.

A consortium led by the family that controls the Lego toymaking empire has agreed a £5.9bn takeover of Merlin Entertainments, the theme park operator which runs the Legoland attraction.
I've just bought off merlin website, 34.99 plus 12 x 11.99 monthly= 178.98😁, you don't get the 2 day tickets but for anyone that can't pay outright
If I lived nearer to Thorpe park and Lego land I’d be all over this, but it’s like a 90 minute drive for us. Hot for those that it’s useful for, 3 visits a year must be break even?

It’s the same people who owned them prior to 2013, black stone and the company that owns legoland hardly going to stop excepting them.

The cheapest price I have seen was an Easter sale at Sea life in London this year. I cannot remember the price, but it was cheaper than the £168 each we paid at Costco if you were buying for a family. Or I saw a very good price to upgrade day ticket when in Alton Towers for the rest of 2019.
May be useful if anyone willing to wait.
Do Merlin still ask for the £30-odd admin fee, per pass?

It still works.

We purchased 3 premium passes in November 18, got 15 months for £417 plus £33 confirmed cashback from purchasing via Sealife.

You can always get in half price. So in reality you'd need to be visiting quite a lot to make one worth it. We got them this year but we live within an easy drive of Blackpool, Alton Towers and the Trafford Centre, we also made an effort to do Chessington and Legoland.

I always find with such passes value is relative, I mean I probably saved £400 with mine, but in reality would I have paid £20 to go in a Sealife centre for 30 minutes? Or visit Blackpool Mad Tussauds 3 times?

You're also forgetting the main advantage of the premium pass, to receive a Lanyard that shows you've got a premium pass, you get to look a bit of a plank with one round your neck, but you get to feel like you're superior to regular pass holders.
We’re 30 mins from Alton Towers and use our Merlin passes a fair amount. The saving on the parking and food and drink is a great perk too!
The food and drink is 20% off and is for all passes, it actually makes quite a bit of the food and drink fairly reasonably priced.
Anyone think the merlin logo looks like a condom brand?
Is it Individual price or family price please?

We had premium passes 3 years ago that I bought in the sale through Quidco. We planned our trips out and holidays around them that year. Did Blackpool Tower including the circus, 2 x Madam Tussauds, Alton Towers x 3, Shrek, London Eye, Lego Discovery Centre, 6 x Sea Life Centres, Legoland, Chessington and Warwick Castle x2. I worked out that even using the half prices vouchers it would have cost us at least £1200 for 4 of us, so I think we got decent value out of them in the year.
"Premium" passes for new customers was just £132.50 per person in April. £168.99 is a cold from me.

I stopped 2 years ago (after having them for 6 years), purely because the price increased and the benefits decreased. If they said that the prices had to rise a little to cover costs, however the benefits stayed the same it wouldn't have been an issue...
Because i had them for the family they lost out on £600 a year. nothing to the likes of Merlin, however it was just the mickey take year after year that i got fed up with.
