That sounds like a typical Pleasure Beach skank. Still as none of the attractions are anywhere near there, makes no odds in this case. Parking at the very end of the spine road (Yeadon Way, near Coral Island, FY1 5BD) is a safe bet for Merlin attractions

So how does the deal work....?

Went once, it was packed out, and it was rubbish.

I still get people posting photos of the waxworks on Facebook, which seems to be an utterly pointless exercise.

Madame Tussauds is probably the most overrated and overpriced attraction in London. Avoid it at all costs. There is plenty of much more interesting things to do in London than wasting your money on this..

That's nice for you but this isn't a deal is it?

Unfortunately NO to both, but it would be a good idea with the priority queue. Last Bank Holiday, we waiting an hour for a poxy children ride in Chessington which lasted a few minutes.

Premium pass doesn't have the exclusion attractions in August that standard pass do, you will need to check out the web site for more details, but I upgrade just my pass as premium because car parking is free (which cost £6 each time), and I have been twice already since April.

Alton Tower Water Park is not part of the Merlin pass deal, but you do get 20% off the price.

@Tyton - ARAIK neither of the passes include complimentary use of the Alton Towers Water Park, but you do get a small discount off tickets (20%) as a passholder!

I imagine if both adults payed, then both children could go free, as it says the full price ticket has to be an adult, but the free ticket is for "one other person", it doesn't state whether the free person. Has to be adult or child. I'm not 100% though.

They seem to be giving away alot of tickets at cheap prices lately. Still would'nt visit though, not since they turned a great medieval castle into a theme park attraction! Lets hope it doesn't go the same way as the American Adventure!!!

The bird display is the only thing worth watching there..
The rooms are nice to look round in the castle...
The rest off the attractions are pants..

I will agree the Merlin Tower is over priced. The dungeon is worth it though.

Take some cash with you as a lot of the stalls weren't taking cards (maybe it was down at the time).A word of warning also, the Merlin Tower is awful and (in my opinion) not worth the extra cost.It consists of meeting Gaius' new assistant who ham's it up for 10 minutes before being led into a room with a 50" TV on the wall. A CGI dragon appears and talks to the kids for a further 5 minutes before being blasted by a wind machine.

Ahh yes the merlin tower, formally the princes tower, formally the ghost tower i think . The castle is as much a entertainment attraction these days as a historical building. If you want to go this is a very hot deal as the normal price is through the roof. Bird display is worth watching.

The only thing they are doing is ripping off the odd person who doesn't get a half price ticket. Though voted hot, people still need to find out where to get the voucher codes from. I also got a half price voucher from a 2l bottle of Sprite, might be a better option if there's an odd number of people.

They dont make it half price by default so that they can cream off the tourists and other ignorant people who dont know about the vouchers.

Sorry cold, 2 for 1 tickets for these are available everywhere, crisps, … Sorry cold, 2 for 1 tickets for these are available everywhere, crisps, cereal boxes, tescos, vouchercodes.co.uk... I personally think it's a farce (by Merlin) - they've lost the whole point of it being a "special" voucher - because everyone can get this all over the place.Due to wait times as other poster says, I'd invest in an annual pass, you'll get your money back many times over, and they refund your full entry price on the day.

thats a bit harsh voting it cold for that reason. If you check the expiry dates for most other vouchers they expire on 16/10/2009 . This expires a few weeks after that, so those of us wanting to go for the scarefest which is AFTER 16/10 need this voucher.

Also, this voucher INCLUDES Sealife London, which most others don't.

Think again before voting cold for stupid reasons

thanks for this, especially pointing out this offer

Note the london eye is missing from list compared to the annual pass.

Just bought this yesterday - collected from Sealife Birmingham. (ok for a couple of hours but wouldn't go for the day). Going to Alton Towers today, Warwick Castle later this week, and it's paid for itself!! It's a great idea for those of us who wouldn't normally buy due to not being able to get use of attractions further south. Yes you do get 20% off Food and drink purchases with the Annual pass. … Yes you do get 20% off Food and drink purchases with the Annual pass. I'll call Birminham sealife tomorrow to see if the same applys to the summer pass.I'm not disputing the Clubcard deal is a better value overall, I use it myself to get my passes. If you don't think you'll use it that much over the 12 months then it's probably not worth wasting that many clubcard points. :)If you were planing just 2 days and Alton Towers and the initial trip to Sealife to pick the pass up for example, this is ideal.

Im not trying to knock your deal, just giving another option.

Also, you should remember than this summer pass is for the worst time you could possibly go - when parks are PACKED with kids.

Personally, I will NEVER again go to a theme park at the weekend or during summer hols. As much fun as the rides are, queueing for 1-2hrs each time just isnt worth it, and quite franky ruins the day.
