Check out the reviews of the Moab series on merrell's website.

Solid 5 star reviews until a couple of years ago and they let the quality drop off a cliff.

It got so bad they had to release the Moab 2 series to leave the stank of the latter day Moab shoes behind and save the reputation of the brand.

Although it looks like a big discount, the reality is these shoes are nowhere near worth the RRP they used to be.

Only problem I have with Merrell footwear, and it's a biggy unfortunately for wet weather footwear, is they have terrible grip in the wet. Easy to slip on damp cobbles or steel in the path/road.

They also have the mid-cut boot for around £62

I had the same issue with some Merrell walking shoes. They were treacherous when walking on wet roots in the woods, a real shame as they were very comfy.

Am on my second pair of Moabs and have found grip on both a little bit lacking. Other than that I’d say quality is good.

I've had two pairs of Merrell shoes, both have taken some solid wear.

Thats just Vibram soles unfortunately notoriously bad in the wet.

I'm surprised Merrell shoes are still using the "Gortex" tag. My current Merrell "Gortex" shoes have been no match for even wet grass. My son tells me his pair (a different model) are the same.
