Although Goretex, these will leak, I've had 2 pairs
Can't see Goretex anywhere in description.

Seem to be regular ones.
Not Goretex
Yes, in the absence of Goretex I expect these will probably leak.
Random thought: Goretex tena lady?

Still cant knock the £10 walking shoes from go outdoors, most comfortable footwear ive ever worn
I am in general Size 8 but in Solomon 9 fit me , so can anyone recommend what Size to order?
The Ops image has the goretex label by the ankle, the shop image doesn't. to be honest they are low cut trainers, it won't make much difference!
It probably means when they do get wet they'll dry quicker!

*edit: Goretex, not Vortex!

Agreed, nothing to see here, folks. It's a duff call by the OP...who says as much above
Good to see Vibram® base of shoe, these quite good for summer use, but that's about it.
Good Tip: Never buy any of the cheaper Merrells without the Vibram® tread, they are lethal in the wet.

The Laces on Merrells last about a week.

Just noticed that Amazon have the goretex version for 59.99 at the moment if that’s any use to anyone.

Funnily, the goretex version doesn't have great reviews on both the Merrell website and gooutdoors. On the other hand, this normal FST version seems to have stellar reviews.

Are these shoes good enough for summer hiking on the Camino Frances?

When are you going I'll join you
Depends on the weather. (Isle of Jura was my last trip, wouldn't have been any good there and it was dry and sunny).
Personally I'd prefer some ankle support, something like the Lowa Renegade GTX, they do a shoe too I think of the Lowa.
Comfortable boot, light, a bit too much stitching, but if Merrell fit you, Lowa should (as I wear both).
Not in the same price range though.

I did the GR20 on Corsica in Lowa Renegade GTX, no blisters, month: July.

Thanks! I am going in a couple of weeks. I am pretty new to the hiking scene so not sure if Merrells will work. In any case, these ones seem a good price point. I am only going to do the end of the Camino Frances (5-6 days).
