Wow! Almost half price on select colours and sizes - I was looking at them last night and they were £90!

I picked Beluga size 11, but other sizes and colours also come in at this low price!

Subjective opinion not necessary, but I do think these are exceptionally comfortable.

Note: The standard Ventilator equivalent (not goretex) are currently more expensive.

Merrells goretex shoes are sadly not waterproof, I've had 4 pairs

Intrigued to determine why, if you felt this was sufficient a problem to voice in this thread, you went on to buy further pairs.

What can happen with Goretex lined shoes is that your toenail can wear through the goretex membrane causing to no longer be waterproof.
I have found that they are waterproof so long as you don't go beyond ankle deep (which is the problem with all low shoes) - The real problem with Goretex waterproofing is that when the inside of the shoe is wet it takes a long time to dry out.

But for walking through wet grass/ puddles / in the rain they are perfect and superior to their non waterproof equivalent which become instantly saturated.

Waterproof socks such as sealskin are an awesome investment too :P

He giving some extra information, but obviously thinks the shoes are good overall all things considered.

I'm in a similar situation. I'm on my third pair, but I find the soles come away a bit and let water in after a while. But, I near enough live in my Merrells so wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair.
I love Merrells and own a few pairs including boots.. but I find the soles to be all but deadly in the wet on a slightly slippy surface.
Do others suffer this problem?

Still love them though and sadly in my size they are coming up at £90+

I've had two pairs and I totally agree. Both were in no way waterproof from day one. The second pair couldn't even cope with a bit of dew on a summer's day, so they were returned.
