Found 4th Apr 2011
This was being sold for £159.99 inc fitting but for now fitting is free again so good deal for £109.99, especially when considering you can pay 3-4 times for a dealer fit or as an optional extra on a new car.

Meta SR2 Targa Parking Sensor System
The Meta SR2 Targa Sensor is designed to mount behind the rear vehicle number plate, minimal drilling may be required for some vehicles.

Summary of features :-
Registration plate mounting system - this provides one sensor either side of the registration plate once fitted
Parking sensor only operates when in reverse
Distance between you and the obstacle is always monitored both when the vehicle is moving and stationary
Intermittant audible signals begin when the obstruction is within the sensor detecting range - the buzzer is located discretely in the interior of your car
An unbroken signal warns of a minimum distance allowing the vehicle to be stopped in safety
The SR2 Targa reversing aid is cleverly designed to mount behind the rear vehicle number plate, allowing an extremely neat, unobtrusive fit - minimal drilling may be required.
This parking sensor fits into the majority of cars subject to vehicle inspection. If you require further assistance in establishing if the Meta SR2 Targa Parking Sensor is suitable for your vehicle, please visit your local Halfords store.
Additional Information
The Meta SR2 Targa Parking Sensor can be professionally fitting at home or place of work. Please add the parking sensor into the basket, & select the mobile fitting option.

You will receive a fitting voucher with delivery of the sensor, please contact the mobile fitting service to arrange fitting.

I was going to buy a car with power steering but thought nah ... who wants weedy girl arms.

You cna just tell from the graphic that the driver will never reverse into the white car behind due to this amazing technology. They'll turn their nearside front wing into the car in front instead.

Its not about learning to drive, these are useful devices that help you also become aware of the things you cant see when reversing, I cant believe some of the cretinous remarks in this thread- Im sure there are quite a few drivers who already have sensors fitted and actually find them useful parking aids, including women.

Cheaper on Ebay and very easy to fit

Never needed them in my day.

I have rear parking sensors and front on my Mondeo. They are excellent on a big car.

Cold comments are probably from people that have never had them. I bet you still want 'real men' windy up window handles too

After the European ruling, you may find your renewal goes up.

As for this product, I bought it but the third party company doing the fitting were hard to deal with and wanted to book me in about 3 weeks after the purchase date. It was far too long so I refunded.

Cold as you can buy this from rep seller for <£60 and fit yourself

this is a very good product and easy to fit. got mine off ebay for around 50 quid

I think reversing sensors are great, especially for bigger cars. I got mine brand new from a well known auction site for £15 delivered (from the UK) and they were colour coded for my car. They were easy enough to fit and even came with a hole cutter. If you're not confident cutting and scotching, I reckon buying them and getting a local independent garage to fit them would still work out cheaper.

Finally some sensible comments from the non-knucklehead community, I did check that auction site and the cheapest around at the moment delivered is around the £60-65 mark so then its a case of if a garage will fit it and how much but buying through Halfords you get the protection that if it cannot be fitted or you changed your mind you can return free of charge- something you may not get elsewhere. Furthermore not everyone will be comfortable fitting these themselves and they at this price it is far cheaper than dealer fit.
