In relation to my Dads views on Mary Poppins this is hands down the greatest game ever made, time to suit up and climb in a box. It’s also machine washable handy to get the smell of soldier urine out

I must confess, I've only played Metal Gear 5 and a tiny bit of 4, but I do know the game

All is forgiven. Metal Gear Solid is pure perfection (I ignore number 2 booo raiden) and all is dandy from there. Ever get the chance go and grab a copy and have a whirl.

I have a PS Classic, so it is available. I may even have purchased it on PSN and still have a PS3 so could use that. I don't think it's dated well, and without the nostalgia, it's harder to enjoy a game BUT I will check it out someday, I'm sure.

Here's my current pile of shame/backlog, just from memory:
Zelda Breath of the Wild
WatchDogs 1 & 2
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Witcher 3
Arma 3
Just Cause 3
Ghost Recon Wildlands
Hitman 2
Crash Bandicoot
Crash Team Racing

There's plenty more as well

Not a bad bunch of games there. I’d possibly look at getting Twin Snakes which was basically a remaster on the GameCube unless you get on PC with a mod. The nostalgia definitely helps with the ages process.

Thanks. I don't think I'll ever get round to buying and playing God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn or Red Dead 2.

Never heard of Twin Snakes. I don't have a GameCube so is my only option to emulate on PC?

You’re not missing much with regards to Red Dead 2. Horizon Zero Dawn didn’t catch me but games are a very personal choice really.

Unless you can pick up a GameCube and the game, then yeah I’ll go on a whim and say emulation is your only destination.
It would appear the world just isn’t ready to be saved by Solid Snake may I introduce the alt saviour

Yeah, I think it's a love it or hate it kind of game. Personally, I'd probably appreciate it. I like beautiful games and single player, though with not having much time I'd potentially grow impatient with it's slow pace.
Horizon Zero Dawn I'd probably enjoy but I think I prefer simpler games (I've been saving Witcher 3 until I could fully immerse myself and dedicate time to it due to it's scale)

Thanks for the recommendation

I think the hype was far too great. I was hoping for Red Dead 1 with an up to date feeling. But once again rockstar decide to just plum everything into multiplayer. I think I loved how it looked and felt......but the pace I genuinely felt life pass me by.

My current favourite game on PS4 is Resonance of Fate. It’s got a 4K/HD remaster from the 360/PS3 era, I never thought I’d be able to play it again.
Possibly one of my all time favourite games. It’s a beautiful single player RPG, with some of the best mechanics I’ve ever seen in a game. If you ever get a chance take a look if you like RPG games.

Well I’ll keep my eye out, if not send me a link when it gets that low, genuinely would appreciate it.

I think a lot have complained about the pace; said it's more like watching a film. Red Dead Redemption 1 is also on my list of games to play and complete

I usually skip RPGs to be honest. I find there's just too much depth... I think it stems from when I was a kid and mates would selfishly hog the controller lol

I didn’t mind the cutscenes etc I hated the constant go fetch this go fetch that larking about.

Have a gander. It’s not traditional RPG well not that I’d know because that’s literally the only RPG I’ve ever played since final fantasy 7.

5 isn't really a Metal Gear game, well, it is, but Konami were forcing Hideo Kojima out thecdoor at that point.

The best order to go through the games (if you don't care much for the tedious plot) is 1-3-4-2-5 and Portable Ops/Peace Walker if you have enough time to play them.

I think the only RPG (or closest to an RPG) I have ever played is Skyrim. I'm trying to think what else I've played that counts... I briefly hadd Persona 4 on Vita didn't play my Vita enough so sold it.

I've had a quick google and it doesn't look like my sort of game bud, but thank you for the recommendation.

I enjoyed MGS5 to be honest.

If you don't care too much about the story, and just want to enjoy the gameplay without it being overly complex, which ones should I play? None? lol

Definitely the first MGS, you can get it on the PlayStation Mini (which is about £34 from Amazon these days), tons of gameplay fun right there.

Thanks. I have the PS Classic MGS is included and it may or may not be in the process of being hacked
When I tried to play it on PS3 years ago it was difficult to get used to
