Great pri.... Oh wait, it's metal gear survive. Nah. I'll wait until it's a pound as I need a new coaster.
I believe the gaming community's response to konami's treatment of Kojima and Metal Gear in general was "f**k Konami"
I agree with this whole heartedly and will never buy another metal gear game, I am looking forward to Death Stranding.
Heat for the price, not for the game, but I'd urge anyone looking for a copy to buy used so Konami get no more cash.

I'd rather save that pound and use a newspaper as my coaster.
I believe @mixmixi has already named this his GOTY

Im pretty sure that's for extra save slots, you're first save slot is free. But still yeah..
Even with the general reviews, I'm surprised it's dropped this fast, it can't be that bad right? It kinda of looks like state of decay from what I've seen

It's nothing like State of Decay, it's bloody awful. They've just used old locations from Phantom Pain, made them a bit dirtier and stuck a repetative, bland, tower defence system in place. Konami are below EA at this point.
This is just a quick rushed out money maker (so they hoped). It uses almost entirely recycled assets from Phantom Pain. Very cheap

It's actually decent. The bad reviews are from Kojima fanboys who aren't even giving this a chance. I'm guessing most either haven't played it at all or those that have have spent less than an hour on it.
I've been playing it daily since release and the microtransactions are being blown out of proportion. They're no worse than microtransactions in other games although you actually get free ingame coins just for logging in each day and you also get them from the special co op event thats currently on.
Yes, you have to pay for an extra character slots and extra expedition teams but neither are needed. You can go back and change your characters appearance and change your subclass when you want so unless you want to play the story again you don't need a second slot. You can also buy boosters that give double points and resources but again, I just used the free currency for that.

I'm actually now at the point where I've done most single player end game stuff ( done 5 out of the 6 base digs) and have now rebuilt my base with all of the base dig rewards .
There are a few co op items that I still need / want (mainly the legendary bow) but it can be difficult to get co op games with decent players because the player base is so small due to the amount of sheep that are following the bad reviews from people who just want to hate it for the sake of it

I suppose what I'm trying to say is that if you can get over the Kojima stuff then it's a decent game and well worth £18. I paid just under £21 for it at launch and have got more than my money's worth

To be fair to Konami the guy kept delaying it and spending way to much. As a company they are doing much better now than at that time.
I personally think that the main reason this game probably will be a failure is the "Metal Gear" part of the title. They should have used the engine etc from TPP but just made it a standalone game rather than make use of the association with Metal Gear, it's not a Kojima game, as far as I am aware it's link to the rest of the series is tenuous at best yet the concept of the gameplay looks good and the engine is very good IMO. Oddly enough I have been playing TPP this week, still love it.

I didn't get on with tpp at all, only got as far as mother base but as far as I know there are quite a few links to MGS in this. Don't want to spoil too much but apparently Chris appeared in tpp as well as the metal gear machine that you salvage. Going to try to go back to tpp at some point as I've sunk so much time into this. The 'home' alternative ending also gives a nod to tpp

What I meant was more that fundamentally they could have made the game with no links to MG and it still be more or less the same game? Yet it probably would not have been pre judged as much. I will probably get it when it's a bit cheaper (I play on PC so this deal isn't a lot of good to me anyway). The thing I love about TPP is the choice you get in how you go about things.
