Your Facebook app should work for you. It should be light, functional and beautiful. It should look how you want it to be accessible everywhere, with lightning fast launch speeds. Metal Pro does this. And more.
And now it supports Twitter, too. Two social networks, one tiny app.

Metal Pro is a Web wrapper with some awesome enhancements you don't get from just a browser like Notifications, Floating windows and Themes.

MATERIAL DESIGN
Browse intuitively, with a design that's easy on the eyes and makes sense. Enable the Material Design theme in Settings

METAL BAR + METAL EVERYWHERE:
Access your messages, news feed and notifications from any app, with a tap and a swipe. Swipe down the notifications bar and tap an icon. Metal Everywhere opens, allowing you to browse in a floating window, while you wait for a game to load or a photo to download.

COMPLETELY AD-FREE:
Metal is for you, forever. No ads, anywhere (unlike some other clients). It keeps your data usage low and your experience the best possible.

(Facebook may offer you sponsored content as part of your feed)

FIXED TOOLBAR & FULL SCREEN MODE
More content, less distractions. Browse with ease using Metal's enhancements.

NOTIFICATIONS:
Get notified from those you care about. Easy to set up and easy to use.

THEMES & DARK MODE:
Your choice. Dark mode makes everything dark. Or use White, a flat and beautiful theme. Or use the default Facebook Blue.

ALL YOUR FAVORITE FEATURES:
It's light (Just 3MB), supports data-saving features and Orbot/Tor.

Just use your browser, much better.

Why?

This is a "wrapper" so just uses your browser to use the mobile Facebook/Twitter. Might as well just use your browser and save 79p.

tried the free version for Twitter use, it's just the mobile website with a sidebar

It does say in the description it is a wrapper so you haven't said anything new. The whole point of it is that it uses less battery and data.

So how much is it normally?

Both the versions I found 'contain ads' and 'Metal Pro: Metal'? No trace.

Thanks, given this a shot. The Facebook app is massive and a big drain on data/battery, plus it still manages to sneak through certain notifications despite me switching them off. However I've just discovered that my phone (Galaxy S7) won't let me uninstall Facebook, only 'disable' it! Grrr.

How's it compare to others like Swipe Pro? I've been using that for a while but the latest update has screwed things up a bit

did try this for a while but it was lacking some basic functions, think around photo/video uploading, so had to go back to the bloated official app...

You just talked me out of it. Photo uploading is my primary use for Facebook.

I just read a review which said when you click on a photo (to have a closer look, usually), it gives you a much smaller version with all the comments below and no way to zoom in. I just downloaded the free version and this is very frustrating!

this is an amazing app im saving like 30% batt like in comparison to using FB ao9
