actually you should just make this your add-on item
good price there too

Fair price, but this was £7.99 in HMV/Fopp not long ago! Still, definitely worth getting - though I'd advise to be aware this is being re-released soon in steelbook format with brand new artwork and a second disc which will include the Giorgio Moroder version (in HD! previously only released on DVD) plus a new documentary. That said, the pre-order price is quite high at the moment (about £20+) but it depends how much extra you want to spend on this film, and also whether you want the Moroder version in the first place. But it will drop in price (my guess to around £15 before it is released).

i wanted to see this film for years and at this price, bargain! have some heat sir

Thanks for the tip - I've been after the Moroder version since seeing it on TV. I have done the preorder as a Christmas present to myself

Good price for a great disc. If you aren't bothered about the new extras on the future release then this is probably the version to get. I'm one of the lucky few to have the steel book version of this which normally sells for £50+ online.

i remember reading once on a steelbook forum that majority of the blu-ray steelbooks of metropolis were destroyed in the London riots a few years back . and thats why they command such a high price

Have you got any more details on that? I love Moroder version and would buy a new definitive collection.

I'd love more info on this! I got my one for Christmas the year it came out and had no idea it was going for so much now! A nice little hidden treasure is now in my collection.

Definitely true. That's exactly why they're so scarce, as is Eureka's Shogun Assassin steelbook edition.

Certainly! Click this link and read about it: blu-ray.com/new…613

Basically it's actually better than the original steelbook - brand new golden artwork, a bonus blu-ray disc rather than a DVD copy (with a new 45 minute documentary PLUS the Moroder version in HD for the first time), and even the chance to win a 'custom gold bar'. I might not buy it straight away as I already have the normal release but I will get it eventually (if the steelbook fanatics don't go crazy and buy them all up). It's gonna be limited to 4000 I think, and at first guess will probably fall to about £20 or under before it's released (similar to the Nosferatu steelbook).

Excellent, thanks. I'd not got round to buying the normal Blu-Ray yet so will have to keep an eye out for this.

If I didn't already have the regular version I would jump at the chance to get this. Seeing as I've been collecting Masters Of Cinema releases for a few years now, I obviously got Metropolis fairly early on and might not 'upgrade' to the 2-disc for a while now - Eureka also announced some other new releases I'm looking forward to that I will prioritise for...including Bill Gunn's Ganja & Hess and Stanley Donan's Two For The Road (both released next month too), and later in the year Sidney Lumet's The Offence (February/March), Elia Kazan's Wild River (also February/March), King Hu's Dragon Inn (aka Dragon Gate Inn) and Alex Ross Perry's Listen Up Philip.
