I've had one of these for around 5 months, real mileage around town etc is roughly 240 and motorway commute I get c220. Great car and have no complaints at all. Charges in just over an hour using a 50kw from under 10%-95%. I find it a fun car to drive and it's quick off the mark (in my mind).

I had a look at this when it first comes out, I ask the sales what the Euro Ncap safety rating was. They quickly drop the topic.

Why there isn't one,  how safe is the car?

Don't get hooked on the prices and range, safety is also something to consider in a car too.
The MG ZS EV was 5* Ncap

To anyone who's thinking I'll buy an EV & install a solar system to feed it, I might just think again. Just had my array/battery put in so far I've been positively underwhelmed by what it does. There are lots of things you only discover about solar after the event. One thing I didn't anticipate was how the system itself eats what it produces, such that you go to bed with a half full battery & wake up to find it's almost empty. Had I known what I know now, I wouldn't blow the best part of £9k on a solar system again.
sign up to octopus go and use the night time 7.5p a unit to charge up the battery. The solar is great in the summer but having octopus go as a back up for the shorter days is great. What size battery did you have installed?

I've had this exact car since Dec. The range isn't much different to more expensive ones with same size batteries, I think most EVs cars get around 4 miles per kWh depending on the weather and how they are driven.

MG make some very competivly priced EVs. They do not have the range of some of the more expensive models, like Kia e Niro or Hyundai Kona or Ionic but then again they are 7 or 8 grand less in price

The MG EV estate is perhaps more a niche market car, not many people nowerdays buy estate cars.

But by all accounts a cracking EV for the money

And yes there are still EV friendly tariffs out there on the market. E-on and Octopus probably have the best EV tariffs out there.

The first all Chinese brand is to intro an electric car range to the UK. BYD is finding its home market slowing down, but has spotted a yawning gap in the European market for cheaper BEVs. It's definitely too early for anyone like me who has an old petrol car to make a move to electric. I'm waiting for more competition to arrive. Just a shame that the first BYD to arrive here will be yet another SUV. I'm waiting for something smaller.

MG, Lotus & Volvo are all Chinese-owned these days.
Ora are introducing their "Funky Cat" right now, the first UK-spec cars arrived here yesterday.
The BYD Atto 3 is rumoured to be around £7-8k more than this MG. (edited)

Why do MG make the range so hard to find, surely it's one of the most important pieces of data!

Real world range around 200 miles for anyone wants to know!
It will be quite a bit more than 200 with a 61kwh battery - I think you looked up a smaller battery version

    How do people afford this??
I know right, £30k is cheap for an EV but it's still 1000% more than I'm used to paying. Even £3k is the biggest outlay I'm ever likely to spend on one item.

This price must offer peace of mind for active climate activists.

Only had a petrol MG as a loan car from dealer when me Seat was in for work. Interior full of cheap plastic and so obvious it was. Good features for sure.

Generally speaking can’t see me going full electric for some time after my current diesel people carrier isn’t for me any longer. Need better range without costing a fortune or weighing the size of a tractor. Minimum 400 miles on one charge would be good for the trip up north from the south east without having to worry about needing a charge.
Withi an MG, you can definitely see where they've saved money, especially on the interior.

Waiting for the MG4 as it looks more like a car I might be interested in, we are having salary sacrifice at work but still not considering jumping to all electric from my CT200h hybrid
The very first customer MG4 is being collected at 1pm today, according to the owner's forum.
Demonstrators should be at all dealerships by Monday.
